Agree and love him as a player.

But we looked much more fluid in attack with JOC (James O'Connor) at 12, although it would be a net loss in defence.

Great to see Hegs play so well, I don’t like him at 15.

I'm not sure if that was to do with the personal shift or just the way the game had already been headed. It's the way Stewart's kicking game has improved that has really impressed me. He had some particularly good nudges before going off injured on Friday night.

I started by being really frustrated with Stewart, he just did not seem a 10 to me. But I'm from the school that doesn't mind having to protect your 9 and 10 in D and likes a flamboyant 10. And the world has moved on from that. Stewart has been sensational at 12, Hunt-esque with additional values.

I absolutely love the bloke's work these days.

Queensland Rugby Union will report a profit at its Annual General Meeting next month despite a $1 million loss in 2019 and ageing headquarters.
While the $32,000 net profit is a modest return, it comes with more than 95 per cent of its operating profit spent on the depreciation of its Ballymore home.
Last year, the organisation reported a $1.09 million loss after the failure of collapsed property group Majella to honour a seven-figure sponsorship and $366,000 in ‘onerous’ contract payments to Quade Cooper, James Slipper and Karmichael Hunt.

Adds a bit of bushy to the side which I love. Don’t just mean he’s from Toowoomba, I mean the fact he plays like he’s from Toowoomba. No frills, gritty, plays percentages. It’s good gear.

I played grade rugby in Toowoomba for a few years including representative rugby with the Darling Downs, and I have to point out that this isn’t a mentality or style adopted by teams on the darling downs. Gritty yes. no frills and percentage rugby no...Darling Downs rugby has its mix of styles like any other comp. Tim Horan stands out in that list of styles to emerge off the range.

I went to school with 400 borders. Bush footballers (especially those from further west than T’ba) play to natural instincts because quite often the coaching isn’t as good or available as it is in the city. For some players this is running and passing, for others this is blunt physicality. Some of the best footy players I’ve played with are from the Bush and they play the game differently.

I find your obsession with me quite odd, I have blocked for for about 18 months, but when I click “view ignored messages” you reply and try to debase everything I write.

It’s a little unusual.

However if it’s very important to you to say that Bush footballers are all Jason Little & Timmy Horan, not Peter Ryan, Ben Hyne, Garrick Morgan well that’s fine, go for it.

The sentiment was it was good to have Bush players and somehow you made it into a point of contention.

Bizarre stuff, but happy to hear you played some footy on the Downs you big legend!!

Bobby I’m not here to name call or bicker.

I’m simply commenting from my own experience through playing Darling Downs Rugby for years that it isn’t a no-frills percentage style of rugby stereotype... tough and gritty players yes, but plenty of dry hard pitches and running rugby. Many clubs up there pride their running rugby and would take offence to been labelled no frills low percentage style of rugby.

When Hegarty slotted into flyhalf our stats and score accelerated. The backline got better. For the final game I would keep the same backline and we finished with on Friday night. Best it’s been all year.

I think the score accelerating can also be attributed to the fatigue levels of the Force as much as it can be to the inclusion of Hegarty.

Anyway its a handy conundrum to have, shows good depth in the squad when players can seamlessly slot in.

I can't call Hegarty a better 10 than JOC (James O'Connor). And I can't call JOC (James O'Connor) a better 12 than Stewart (OK that one is close).

It does speak volumes as to how well trained these guys are in the systems.

Yes, quite right, I’m sure Bush rugby clubs take offence to being called Bush rugby clubs.

Thanks for pulling me up on this, I was right out of line.

Also, to be clear playing the percentages means high percentage. As in, you know, smart rugby.

JOC (James O'Connor) is in career best form IMO, he has lost some speed and agility but his composure and control is beyond what i expected of him when they reported he was coming back. I was admittedly a vocal critic and didn’t want a bar of him, but he has clearly changed and evolved both on and off the field.

Stewart, is still growing as a player, doesn’t hav the natural talent of JOC (James O'Connor) but will always compete and has noticeably improved his decision making and short kicking game this year.
