Yes emanating no doubt from the ARU.
The ARU should stick to its mandate and leave QLD rugby to the QRU.
Why would you be so narrow minded not to look into this? You do know QRU only survives by the grants provided by RA.
You might disagree with the current leadership but it doesn't mean that the proposed model is wrong or not worth investigating.
And all the backrowers. Those rolling mauls don't pack themselves.People seem to be happy when they go to Brumbies, but if all these continue as is, how do they have room? Enever, Douglas, Frost, Swain & Neville. All quite solid.
Rebels surely as DESPERATE for a quality lock and a leader with Phillips and Jones going.
Brumbies have Swain, Enever and Frost longer term, though with Neville and Douglas contracts ending there could be room for Rodda, especially if a guy like Neville is happy to go back to Melbourne.
If they end up at another franchise then they have to give a player back to Qld right?
^ Enever is off contract at the Brumbies this year
And does any team have adequate compensation for a World XV tight forward that they’re willing to part with? At this point I’d be happy with a washing machine for Hockings and Lucas but you’d want at least 75c back on the dollar for Rodda.

If that’s the case, they’re not the players we want to be the best performing Reds team of all time. If they don’t have the confidence or drive to prove they are the best man for the job, then bon voyage.Do we think this situation is as simple as Rodda missing captaincy, Blythe seemingly ahead of Hockings, and Isaac not locking down 10 or 15?
I hope it isn't that simple.
Adequate compensation? QRU have no bargaining power in this scenario. They certainly will be on the wrong side of any deal proposed.
Also world XV is a bloody stretch. Rodda wouldn't be in the top 12. Off the top of my head NZ 4, SA 3, Eng 2, Fiji 1, Ire 1 and Wal 1 better locks playing for them.
I think they have a fair bit of bargaining power. They hold his contract for the next few years.
Take a look at another competition where unhappy stars and trades are more frequent such as the NBA. If a player is unhappy with the organisation, they hold them out of play until they can find what they believe is an adequate trade (or just stop them from playing until their contract expires and lose them for nothing). Granted that approach isn’t really in the DNA of Australian sports but it seems appropriate here. Rodda doesn’t want to play for the Reds? Fine, give us something for him or he won’t play professional rugby for three years and lose value.
They can’t long term , the stand down rules only apply to situations of hardship outside of the employer’s control such as the current global pandemic. How can they do this without paying his wages?

It would be QC (Quade Cooper) all over again.
