Reds 2019

No disrespect to the Reds, but the Folau to Qld talk baffles me somewhat. He has a combo at the Tahs that suits him. The Reds are in a very uncertain phase as to who else will be in the backline around him. It would seem odd for him to make the jump to something so uncertain, no matter how strong the "bond" with Thorn might be.
Of course, that said, I'm probably wrong!

I think it will come down to where Mrs Folau wants to live when they start breeding

We would be insane not to re-sign Reece Hewat, he is what QLD rugby is all about.

This is the line I read:
"Outside those positions the majority of the squad will be locked away, assuming big guns Michael Hooper, Israel Folau and Bernard Foley re-sign on long-term deals (we're hearing four years). Despite the Izzy-to-Queensland speculation, the Waratahs remain confident Folau will stay in Australia, and NSW, for the medium term."

. . .There's that ass word again sunnyboy :)

Sure I'm a fan. Of his play. But he's not the player the Reds need and unless he's playing for chicken feed we can't afford him.
I also think Folau needs a good 10-12 to perform. Where are the coming from? Souths?
And I haven't even started on the homophobia.

Sully the salary that Folau would be getting is basically mostly paid by the ARU.

Just like those 2 exiled players at the magpies... they are essentially being paid by the ARU to play club rugby because the reds coach says they don’t factor into the reds future plans.

The homophobic stuff with Folau whilst you may not agree with it, would his personal beliefs stop you from wanting the reds to upgrade their backline?

I feel more confident Israel Folau is a done deal to reds.

Georgina Robinson is merely speculating. A lot can happen on a tour to South Africa but when the Waratahs gets pumped on weekend by the lions you can expect an immediate announcement Folau to reds is done deal moment Qantas flight touchesdown back in Sydney from Jberg.

I don’t know about that Bobby. I have a feeling Hewat may be on the outside looking in at Brad Thorn red squad.

There was a internal trial a couple weeks back weekend before test matches concluded and all reds players were required not to participate at club footy that weekend.

Found it surprising that Hewat was named for norths that weekend and without any info on the actual trial match and who participated I assumed Reece Hewat was not required and turned out for Norths instead.

You feel confident the Israel deal is done because Georgina is speculating that it isn't? That's some logic.

It's called a 'top up' for a reason. You guys are shelling out plenty for Hunt, Quade and now Slipper.

I wonder if there’s a bit of the To'omua factor to it? Maybe one of the 2 local netball teams can make a play for his wife.

Maybe. But the nagging doubt around what backline they can build around him remains.
Anyway, if he goes, he goes.

Bring the lad home, we missed him at the time because of QC (Quade Cooper). He finished a year later at BSHS.
