gel, this little bit of analysis below (buried inside news.com.au on April 29) spoke volumes where mere words may not suffice. Remarkably the lamentable figure of J Tucker used this data to prop up Brad Thorn's HC coaching credentials and wildly speculate that NZ rugby might be out to poach him away from the QRU.
But for the supposed second great State of rugby in Australia what it really shows if objectivity vs sloppy thinking is the master is that the QRU has an appalling history over 17 years no less of both HC selection and internal HC development:
First-year Reds coaches after 9 [Super] games
Name Win-Loss
Mark McBain (2001) . 4-5
Andrew Slack (2003) . 3-6
Jeff Miller (2004) . 3-6
Eddie Jones (2007) . 1-8
Phil Mooney (2008) . 3-5 (plus 1 draw)
Ewen McKenzie (2010) .6-3 (the sole HC starter year where ws dominate ls after 9 games)
Richard Graham (2014) .3-6
Nick Stiles (2017) . 2-7
BRAD THORN (2018) . 4-5
Sacking Mark McBain must be (one of) the stupidest decisions ever. 6-5 and a semi-final in his first year, 7-4 and 5th in his 2nd year and he gets punted.
