The latter I would think. He just doesn't seem to have the overall skills to be a top flight half in super rugby.
Having said that, Lucas has been fairly disappointing as well.

I'd love to see an video edit of all of Luca's passes from last week failing slowly behind his target

Yes, where I was sitting I was struck by how many seemed to land at the feet of the player being passed to - it seemed to happen a number of times.

So Tuttle is playing club rugby this weekend.

Amazing to me how you can have a healthy Tuttle in clubland and then a Ben Lucas starting at 9 for the Reds.

Are the Coaches watching the same game as the rest of us? I hope this is simply just a case of Tuttle getting match fitness back at clubland for GPS and eventually taking over Lucas job because old man Benny provides the Reds next to nothing In My Opinion!

So I guess that there is zero chance of Gill coming back now that Hooper is being offered a five year extension.

This in my humble opinion is one of the key reasons why Rugby struggles in Australia. The need to sign a player even the current captain to a 5 year deal to play for his country is ridiculous. He can’t play for another country so why contract them for any period of time. It’s not about playing for australia it’s about making sure he plays in the Super Rugby comp and for the Warrataghs. Correct me if I am wrong but doesn’t the super rugby format potentially change in 2 years? Rugby is a contact sport with huge injury outcomes. 5 years is a long time to roll the dice on injury, form, finacial state and yes where is the incentive to keep, encourage or retain a great seven developing or overseas. Also The national coach has already indicated he is gone after the World Cup next year so what does that say about the next coach having his choice of captain or players?

Couldn't agree more. Maybe he threatened to take a paid sabbatical??

So surely Stewart has done enough to retain a starting jersey?
What about Lance if fit does he come back in; if so where?
What do people think?

Goal kicking has a lot to left to be desired

Hope that doesn’t keep Stewart out of starting lineup in favour of Lance... Daugunu did look good with his attempts

Well done Reds....JP Smith was awesome.....surely deserves to continue to start after that performance....and for first full run on game...Stewart did well and might even hopefully get people to say Quade who..... What I like with Thorn is blooding so many young players....Now if you can just beat those kiwi fuckers teams as I am so sick of that appalling record against them and please don't let them get to 50-0.....

Daugunu, Tuttle, Lance and Lucas are all proficient goal kickers in addition to Stewart (and could all be in the side in their own right), goal kicking should be pretty fucking far down our list of priorities.

Stewart was monstrous in defence and majestic in attack (relative to Lance). I mean how many 10's have a genuine pilfer!
