Yes it's looking like Leroy might be allowed to play for Bath until New Years on a short term contract.

I'm not a fan and don't see how this benefits QLD Rugby, he should be in the NRC and then pre-season, the only thing I can imagine is its some sort of contractual overlap between the Reds and Bath.

JOC (James O'Connor) did the same thing in 2015 and got injured

So I watched the QLD country game and have to say that I am now a massive Duncan Paia’aua at 12 supporter.

Yes we lost but at one point he threw a left to right flat cut out pass that was Cooperesque in its quality.

Yes it is a small sample size but I am proposing a 9 Frisby, 10 Cooper, 11 Nabuli, 12 Paia'aua, 13 Kerevi, 14 Magnay, 15 Hunt

I am also impressed with Thor and hope that the plan is for him to be a close to 80 minute player by the end of 2017 ready for the Spring tour as a Wallaby.

big problem with country is the lack of big bodies. Thor unfortunately was used for more as a dummy then as a runner in that game.

Benching big lefau was a mistake considering both centres in DP and perese were already small. He made several big dents when it came on. should be on at wing or 13 with perese at wing.

mitchell and rodda did well but simmons went missing. Without fakasolia or naiyabo on the field, lacking alternate big runners. Not sure why barker and cornelson are starting over new reds recruit scottyoung. hopefully changes next week.

LIqour Box, not sold on your wingers, but that's the halves, centre and fullback combination that I would have. I think Perese has shown more the Magnay, and whilst Nabuli was solid in Super Rugby he wasn't exceptional, he will have competition for his spot.

yep, I am now 100% on the Perese for Wing campaign for the Reds

9 Frisby, 10 Cooper, 11 Nabuli, 12 Paia'aua, 13 Kerevi, 14 Perese, 15 Hunt

I havent at all been on the Karevi band wagon but after WBs v Boks I've come round big time. Not just his line bending, we saw some really nice touches, fab pass to Foley early on, and a willingness to flick. Love it.

Duncan also lighting up the NRC - OK touch OTT but I'm liking what I see.

Lets hope Hunt sorts his groin because that line is ominous - have to agree Frisbey-Quade-Paia'ua-Karevi-Hunt.

Tight 5 looks good. I'm swimming against the tide but want to see the loose forwards in action. Experience and history for sure.

Its been a while since I felt this hopeful in pre-season.

My serious best wishes for Stiles and his team.

P.S Banks has been quite impressive in the NRC. He's a solid lad but very athletic and fast, aggressive and has a big boot. I think he (and Perese) have been the big mover for me in terms of looking to compete for that 14/15 role.

I'm keen to see how Korczyk and Timu develop more then anything this season. they are obviously behind Tui and Houston for now but both seem to have a much bigger upside, and with Tui not being a long term option i'm hoping at least Korczyk gets a good amount of game time this coming season. anyone know their current injury status?

Korczyk and Hunt are the injuries I would like to hear about.

Two others I've liked the looks of who could come into contention for the wing spot are Isireli Naisarani and Felsman.

Naisarani may well get a look in at 6/8 particularly at the start of the season when Smith and Tui will still be in Japan and Korzcyk and Timu will be coming back from injury. He's shown some great form in the NRC so far and it'll be interesting to see if he can make the step up.

The OTHER great one Scrub.

Felsman scored a great try but needs more time to show what he can do and hopefully he'll get it. Isa Naisarani is playing 6/8 at the moment and played a bit of second row for Sunnybank I think.

Thanks for that. I assumed he was on the wing for the number of breaks he made down the left flank on the weekend. Actually, he really looked the goods (if I've got the right person). Could he/would he switch to the wing? Big and fast and able to break the defensive line.
