So this is what I think the squad is now:

Reds Super Rugby Squad:

Outside backs

Campbell Magnay
Chris Feauai-Sautia
Chris Kurindrani
Eto Nabuli
JJ Taulagi
Ayumu Goromaru
Junior Laloifi

Centres

Samu Kerevi
Karmichael Hunt
Anthony Fainga'a
Duncan Paia-aua

Flyhalves

Jake McIntyre

Scrumhalves

Nick Frisby
James Tuttle

Backrow

Liam Gill
Adam Korzyk
Jake Schatz
Lolo Fakaosilea
Michael Gunn
Curtis Browning
Hendrick Tui

Locks

Kane Douglas
Cadeyrn Neville
Rob Simmons

Props

Greg Holmes
Ben Daley
Sam Talakai
James Slipper

Hookers

Andrew Ready
Saia Fainga'a

That's 30 with likely targets the lock and flyhalf spots. At least, with a likely squad size of 32 or 33.

Leaving an EPS (Extended Playing Squad) of what I think is the below (at least), although I thought there was a limit of only 5 players.

Izaia Perese - wing/centre
Sam Greene - flyhalf
Scott Gale - scrumhalf
Izack Rodda - lock
Lukhan Tui - lock
Pettowa Paraka - prop
Sefe Faagase - prop
Taniela Tupou - prop
Alex Mafi - hooker

Accurate? Any changes that anyone can pick up or are aware of?

Just because I like stats and because it's a good work avoidance strategy, I thought I'd try and find out just how green our squad is for 2016. Based on Reg's list above....

Total Caps
Super Rugby (or Top League) - 1091
International - 360

Individual Super Rugby (or Top League) Experience
% of the squad greater than 10 caps = 53%
% of the squad greater than 20 caps = 40%
% of the squad greater than 50 caps = 30%
% of the squad greater than 100 caps = 7%

I couldn't find 'point in time' stats to work out how many caps etc the squad had at the start of 2015 so just looking at the caps lost vs the caps gained from 2015 to 2016 we are down 777 Super Rugby caps and 268 International Caps.

I know that none of this is ground breaking or telling us something that we don't already know but I was interested to see just what shade of green we were at the moment.

Green can be a good thing though and that's what I'm trying to run with. I'm not dellusional though, I don't expect this group of players to win the whole comp but I'm excited to see what they can do. Some early wins will be fairly crucial to building confidence which I think will be critical.

I would love to see two or (dare I say) three wins from the first four games:

Tahs away
Force home
Rebels away
Blues home

What exactly is a pass mark for RG this coming season though?

The expectations appear pretty low due to the players we have lost as well as quite a few of the players left are pretty green. So if we have a season with only 4 wins (equal to last year) then surely RG can’t be blamed because the team is so inexperienced compared to last year. If he only gets 2 wins throughout the whole season, then surely that is expected and apparently symptomatic of a team that is in such a major rebuilding phase – therefore not RG’s fault again.

If he gets 5 wins next year, then surely that shows that the Reds organisation made the right decision in keeping him around and the team is on the up and he is clearly a super coach.

He can’t fail next year, because he is really going to be judged against his own incredibly low standards instead of what he really should be judged on – winning most of the games and producing wallabies (has he actually ever produced one – I think maybe Shatz debuted whilst he was coach but I can’t recall anyone else from the Force or Reds. I might be wrong on that though).

Gel do you think you could please save it until after we win our Preseason Premiership again before reality forces us into the realization of how much of a rough ride this is actually going to be?

Nothing Else Matters.

I would have thought that winning matters. The slogan could be preparing the Reds faithful for a long season - It's all about playing for Queensland, even if it is before an empty stadium, because winning doesn't matter, nor does engaging with the supporters.

Will RedCorp get Metallica along to season launch?

yep, probably the best for a while. Interesting they are playing the "Queensland" brand, not the "Reds". Obviously positioning to dismiss the off-field distractions "its all about playing for Queensland". I like it.

Perhaps may also point to a more 'basic' (Matt O'Connor-led) game plan. But in the end, you know, a win's a win and of course "Nothing Else Matters"

YES SOMETHING ELSE MATTERS!!!

Yes I recognise satire when I see it, but seeing those words in black and white just has me seeing red. Too close to the bone. How the hell did the Reds end up here in 2016?

I was under the impression that nothing less than a play off berth would be considered a pass mark. Wasn't that from our glorious leaders lips when Graham was reinstated?

I will consider it a successful season if with a 3 weeks to go we are a mathematical possibility of making the finals.

This means we have done alright and show what we can do without being over the top.

I would like the board to have the guts to change coaches if we lose three of our first games.

Yes it was. Is anyone taking odds on whether they hold themselves to it?

wins aren't the only thing which matter... people will argue winning rugby is entertaining rugby, but thats not true. I've watched some amazing games where the team i was supporting lost, and I've also watched some extremely poor games where the team i was supporting won. Its more then just winning, its the way in which the game was won, and losing isn't just losing, if a team is competitive but still loses it can be an entertaining game, but if a team capitulates like the Reds did at times in 2015 then its frustrating to watch.

It's no secret that the Reds are in a re-building phase but now for the first time in three years they are 'desperate'.

Desperate for the clubs history, the fan base and also to find out whether individually they will sink or swim (staff and players).

That says to me that the Reds will scrap for everything, not necessarily for the staff but for the individual satisfaction within the group. No one expects them to do well and when your faced with that, performance speaks volume and nothing else matters.

I feel the players will come out with a chip on there shoulders and I am going to back this young, enthusiastic group to shock a few teams next season.

yep, that's definitely the feel I get. Lots of workman like players and I think that will be their approach.

Whilst I'm not confident for the season outcomes, I'm looking forward to seeing this outfit get out there and I will still support them to the hilt.

Yeah I guess that's a good point Reg. I'm excited about the development of some of these kids too. the experience they are getting will be invaluable in years to come.

The reds have no hope of a competitive season. lambs to the slaughter. RG Has been in charge of this team for 3 years and we should be passed the development stage. This talk of what constitutes a good season is rather sad. We should be one of the great provinces of world rugby and a threat every year. Not one person on this forum is expecting that this year and sadly that is the true reflection of where we are at as a club. All this puff up the chest I am a true supporter will back the boys garbage makes me sick. We all want the players to do well but that doesn't mean we should let the board and coach off achieving the results that are expected. The Reds have great nursery, a great stadium, good training facilities, good ticket sales (previously). There are no excuses except shit management if they don't perform.

I'm not excusing the management Rugrat, they have let us all down with the extension of RG at the helm. I am just looking forward to supporting the players that run out each week in the Reds jersey who will be doing the best they can. Guys like McIntyre, Fakasolia, Green, Kerevi etc who have come through the Premier ranks to have a go at being a professional player. No matter who's running the ship they deserve our support.

Yeah, sorry about that. I read a couple of articles in the local press yesterday that were rather Richard Graham heavy and it got me so far down again. The Reds press of late has been very quiet on the Richard front, till yesterday.

Mate, pretty much all of us got all angry and feet stompy at some point this year. People cancelled memberships, others vented via social media, some of us wrote angry blog articles, I'd say plenty of us emailed the head honchos at the Reds directly and let them know what we thought of the basket case that was the Reds 2015 too.
I don't think a single person on here is 'accepting' that all is well at the Reds but for all of our aforementioned posturing and venting, the situation currently is exactly what it is.
So we have a choice. Get ready for another season of Super Rugby with the Reds as our team or walk away. Neither of these choices mean that we can't look for the positives where ever they may be or be furious with the administration if the results don't come. They are not mutually exclusive.

We all want the players to do well but that doesn't mean we should let the board and coach off achieving the results that are expected.

We do indeed want the boys to do well and I can only speak for myself but I won't let the board and coach off if they don't achieve the results I expect.
