Graham and Meehan's whole attack strategy's built around Quade Cooper doing "something".

What the hell are they planning to do now that QC (Quade Cooper) is out for the rest of the season?

The reds desperately need someone (anyone) with some form of coaching experience that can relate a basic go to strategy for the balance of the season.

The reds cannot use QC (Quade Cooper) being injured as an excuse - you can't build an entire game plan around just one individual.

It's perhaps the ultimate indictment of RG's coaching and squad planning capability that he had zero credible contingency in place re a sustained QC (Quade Cooper) injury and appeared to magnify that reckless error with recent revelations that 'the whole 2015 attack plan was built around QC (Quade Cooper).'

A major flaw in the 'we'll be saved as soon as the 7 missing players come back' superficial excuses and such theories is that, as the season progresses, for all teams it's always the case that more injuries occur, and the net injury situation changes again in its impact.

The season now moves from a kind of predictable, sad tragedy (for Reds fans and QLD rugby in general) to an utterly laughable farce.

Yeah gel, a bit hard to play the "give it to Quade" gameplan when he isn't playing. At least this time they can't play the "we'll wait for Quade to come back and save us card". Someone will have to coach at some point.

We're a pretty ragged mob heading to the toughest place to win. A bit like 2007 except we still have half the season to go. :(

Rightio, with Quade now gone it's time for the Reds board to sit down and weigh up the key issues.

The time to replace Graham is surely immediately.

Pros
1. All coaches in the market know there is a genuine job up for grabs and will take interest seriously.
2. If there is a good coach thinking about jobs that may be available post RWC, they might be enticed by the idea of a "bird in the hand" and take a job now. If the board waits until closer to the RWC, the good coaches might back themselves to get an international gig and since the cup is close they might wait and see.
3. The new coach gets the opportunity to recruit for next year to suit their own requirements.
4. Players who are thinking of leaving might decide to stay if they like who is coming in.
5. Players who are thinking of moving to the Reds would be more interested.
6. Fans who have lost heart have some hope and will continue to support the team because something is seen to being done.
7. The results could hardly get worse.

Cons
1. Have to pay out Graham.
2. Likely have to go to a caretaker coach while the new coach is found.

I just can't see any other way. Graham has to go now.

At least to this non-Qld fan, and it should be to others as well, this whole situation is a huge worry for all Aus rugby. We just cannot have one of the foundation Unions in such disarray, let alone any of the franchises.

Given Quade Cooper is out again for another 8 weeks and Shatz is out at least 4 weeks on top of Horwills 1 week ban my starting 15 would look like this;

1. James Slipper
2. James Hanson
3. Greg Holmes
4. Rob Simmons
5. Dave McDuling
6. Curtis Browning
7. Liam Gill
8. Adam Thomson
9. Nick Frisby
10. James O'Connor
11. Lachie Turner
12. Anthony Fainga'a
13. Samu Kerr I
14. Chris Feauai-Santia
15. Karmichael Hunt

Can RG just not go on tour, really his time has to be done by now.

Maybe this mystical 'plan' that Graham keeps talking about is the same as the one that took Steven Bradbury to gold? After all, it worked in the semi and then the final for him.
I'm assuming how it will work for us is that first we sit down the bottom of the AUS conference and the 4 teams above us get disqualified (or whatever. It's not important) and we win the conference guaranteeing us third spot overall. Then we simply need the quarter, semi and ultimately grand finalists to get disqualified, and we are home and hosed! 2015 Champions!!!!
