Anyway... Back to the Reds...
White leaving places pressure on Genia to reveal his intentions, Reds need to lock in Frisby for 2016 if Genia is leaving, otherwise it's likely he will be poached by the Brumbies and offered a starting role down there..

The Fris should get plenty of starts this year, Genia's form has been generally poor (when compared to his best) and its "looks" like he's off again. Whilst the incumbant, I don't think Genia will be given a long time to reach back to his potential.

I think that regardless what Genia is doing in 2016, if his form is even trending upwards he will get the majority of the minutes.
Yes, we need to lock in Frisby but if there's a hint that Genia could come back into form then almost any coach in the world would play him.

I'm not saying that it will happen this year. I'm simply saying that if Genia shows a glimpse, he'll get the nod and Frisby will be riding the pine.
The fact that he may be leaving or not wont have much to do with it. He's contracted for this year and we have a championship to win this year. :)

If Genia jets off and Frisby moves down south, I'd love to see the Reds have a crack at Ben Meehan at the Rebels. Showed real promise last year when he got a run.

i think if the brumbies were going to go after anyone i'd say Luke Burgess would be of great interest to them

nah he just signed with the Manly Sea Eagles ;)

If you are talking about the Melbourne Rebels variety, then i really don't think its in the Brumbies best interest to sign a halfback who will be turning 33yrs old in 2016.

How weird to have a first choice team without QC (Quade Cooper) or Will in it. Good luck to both of them, in whatever they end up doing.

I wouldn't write off Quade or Will just yet to O/seas.
If you look at most of the players currently putting up their hand who have been major contributors to the Wallabies, (Horwill, Ashley-Cooper, Kepu, White etc) they are into their 30's after the RWC.
This is all-in-all probably a good thing as it will allow opportunities for the champions of the future.
Genia has only just turned 27 and is just starting a family (more an incentive to stay for the time being), & Cooper is 3 months younger than Genia.
I think it would be more likely that they would stay on.

You are more optimistic than me mate. Truly half full. I hope you're right

For Genia nad QC (Quade Cooper) to stay they would both take a pay cut from the cumulative total paid by the Reds and ARU over their last contract. Simply because of lack of consistent performance on the field.

Both are not what they used to be. Quade however is, coming back to his best and is an integral part of the Reds. IMO he will be the 10 at RWC time.

White is 24 yo. Do you mean the 2019 RWC?;)

Also, not too sure what the ages of Horwill et al have to do with either Will or Quade taking an overseas contract. They will presumably decide based on what's best for them. If they decide to stay, they should both be in the picture for Wallabies selection in 2016 imo so maybe there will be other reasons if they decide to go.

Both would be missed, Quade most I think, but do they see themselves having a role in the Cheika-ball Wallabies, I wonder?

I wonder if potential boxing deals are more likely to keep Quade Cooper with the Wallabies than heading overseas?

If he's aligned with people like SBW then the likely window for an annual fight is around this time of year which is when his next fight is scheduled. If he went to France he'd be playing right now and it would be impossible.

It's also a no go in the NRL due to salary cap issues.

Well if it is a factor then Quade won't be happy considering he was told by the Reds to pull out of the next fight..

As for the NRL, Paul Gallen has been boxing, and SBW had a fight when he was with the Roosters I believe

I think Gallen's fight was for charity.

I also believe that SBW only fought when he was between NRL contracts. There has been some push back that they can't get paid to box (or anything else) without it coming under the salary cap.
