Once he can punt the ball like Latho I'll accept that.
But running style wise I can see where you're coming from, his a big lad for a fullback and still has a lot of toe.
I have never understood what players do with their spare time. If you look at S15 and Wallaby teams, Australia could do with great kickers.

Why dont guys like Morahan spend 3 hours a day punting a ball and practicing torpedos?

I was lucky, I could always kick a ball about 50m with both feet (about all I was good for!!!). Is kicking something you are born with or can you learn it?

Is it just me or do players from the pacific islands struggle to kick a ball?

It's an absolute joke. He announced back in April he's staying with the reds. How the fuck is he not signed off with the ARU by October. What differences between the parties could there be that delays a contract signing. It's not like he is a fringe player, he is a Wallaby captain FFS. It's not rocket science? Surely?
If I was Genia, I would also take on a second manager, and make sure he is a renowned NRL manager and be seen having coffee with him. This would bring on an ARU contract overnight

Just you.

How is that relevant in a discussion about Morahan?
It was an observation about the abilities of different players and their ability to learn to kick during their career. I thought, and am glad you proved me wrong that there was also a coincidental link between players who come from a region that encourages and loves running rugby and not being as good as kicking.

I am glad that I did not imply a link between countries that love kicking the ball and them actually doing it well.

Their problem is that if they kick the ball well it goes into the drink, and they can't afford another one (just kidding for the unimaginative)

This is one of the things I love about rugby, there are so many styles of Rugby played, each has strengths and weaknesses and being such an international game culture has so much to do with it.

XXXX backs Queensland Rugby

By Media Unit

Brisbane, Queensland: Queensland’s favourite brewer and Queensland Rugby (QRU) are reigniting a 35-year relationship with XXXX today announcing a renewed partnership with the Union which will support all levels of Rugby in Queensland.
The five-year deal will provide ongoing support to the Queensland Reds Super Rugby franchise and also over 200 grassroots Rugby clubs and sub unions throughout the state as part of a QRU Game Development aggregation model which will provide significant cost savings to the Queensland Rugby community.
The partnership between the QRU and XXXX first ran from 1975 to 2010 and to mark the deal the once famous “XXXX Hill” will be reinstated at Ballymore in the coming weeks.
Geoff Cockerill, Castlemaine Perkins Regional Director said: “XXXX, through our XXXX GOLD brand, is truly excited to once again join forces with Queensland Rugby and we look forward to a fantastic partnership with the Union and the Queensland Reds over the next five years,” said Cockerill.
“XXXX has proudly backed rugby for many years in Queensland. Reds fans will recall great memories of cheering on their team on XXXX Hill at Ballymore, so we’re stoked to reclaim that spiritual turf for the future generation.”
QRU Chief Commercial Officer Daniel Herbert welcomed XXXX GOLD back to the Rugby community: “Queensland Rugby chooses to partner with organisations which display a real commitment to supporting all levels of Rugby in Queensland,” said Herbert.
“XXXX Gold will not only provide great support to the Reds as an Elite Partner, it will also form a significant new offering in the QRU aggregation program which sees savings passed on to our clubs and sub unions throughout Queensland, courtesy of our collective buying power.
“This partnership will provide significant benefit to the Queensland Rugby Community and our supporters. It is fantastic to have XXXX back on board as one of our key partners.”
The partnership will also ensure XXXX GOLD will be served at every Queensland Reds game at Suncorp Stadium.

What has it replaced?
Tooheys New I believe..

XXXX is much better, not because I enjoy XXXX, but it also allows the other beers within the Lion Nathan family to be put on tap and sold at Suncorp when the Reds are playing..

I think you'll find that only XXXX Gold will be on tap TOCC, all flat & frothy being poured 6 at a time into plastic cups

The corner bar at the Caxton St end is the only part of the stadium to purchase a decent beer out of a bottle. But I don't want too many on the secret ;)

Latho was average for a while before he got awesome.

Exactly. I think morahan has the same potential.

In saying that part of the reason that Latho was inconsistent to begin with was that he only started playing rugby at 18.
