The Reds are getting pretty physical at training it seems, which is unsurprising given the season is weeks away. Apparently Digby and Daley had a 'scuffle' in yesterday's session.
Can't wait to next Tuesday....
In the meantime, I encourage all Tah supporters who read this thread to start thinking of their excuses now when they lose to the Reds at Suncorp. Best excuse that is posted before the game wins a lolly!
What's on Tuesday?
The game is transported to an alternate universe where the worse side on the day is declared the winner?
Hmmm, not bad, and I say, why not? It happened this year in the Tahs v Reds showdown, where the better team for most of the game lost!
On Horwill. He is the type of player we missed against England on the EOYT, and not to the point, also in the 2007 RWC Q/Final against the same team. One player here or there wouldn't have made a difference in either game but it underlined our shallow depth of TH locks in the country - the Bakkies Botha and Brad Thorn type who locks in the scrum behind the THP and doesn't take a backward step in any department.
This might sound like a big call, but James Hanson is excellent. I've seen him go head to head with Saia a couple of times in club footy and he played all over him. He also was Unis best player most weeks. Super 15 is not the Hospital Cup but the signs are very good.
I just think Horwill will prove the difference between Australia having a poor scrum and a scrum that's good enough.
No, we will never be world beaters but perhaps with Mr.Horwill we could, within reason, guarantee our own ball and not concede penalty tries.
I do not consider this a huge call.
My destiny awaits!
I don't know alot about scrum dynamics, but I am unsure if it works like that. Although, I am very excited at the prospect of him locking into the Reds TH side, and hopefully serving up the Tahs pack along with Jimmy Slipper and Co. That would be very nice after our scrum was totally embarrassed by them last year, and probably kept the Tahs in the game.
