QRU signs a new contract with Suncorp Stadium to play all there games at the venue, they didnt mention a lenght but they did say "long term" so im presuming its a 5 year contract tied in with the lenght of the expanded Super Rugby series.
New membership packages should now go on sale next week
Absolutely agree about Lucas, It appeared tome as though Link started Lucas at fullback in a direct response to the pressure defence was placing on Quade Cooper, he was effectively targetted in the games against the Brumbies and Hurricanes, and it became evident that the Reds backline was largely ineffective when so much pressure was been placed on Quade. There were no other playmakers in the backline.
Also in regards to Rodney Davies, ive been hearing certain rumours that he has been playing up a bit lately, im not going to go into details, but lets just say he has been using his speed to not only score tries but evade certain uniformed public servants.
However on a general level if it is just an unsubstantiated rumour that will not go further and be exposed either officially and/or in the media then it is just mischievous rumour mongering against a player who has no real chance to defend himself.
Listen champ, i understand your concern, however this isnt a case of someone picking on a player unable to defend himself, and its a little bit offensive to insinuate that i am doing as such
I wasn't trying to be offensive, if I was I would say it outright. I expressed my view on the comment/rumour that is all.
.....
All i am going to say further on the subject, is that what he did wasnt that bad, maybe a night in the watch house to sober up, which would have ultimately been the case had it not been for the fact that even when highly intoxicated he was able to outsprint the police..
We should be happy that his hamstrings were able to hold up
Five elite Queensland police officers involved in a drunken nude run will be allowed to return to their posts in the Special Emergency Response Team.
The officers have been unsure of their future since the bucks' party high jinks in September, last year.
Queensland Police Union president Ian Leavers this morning confirmed the officers would return to the team after undergoing performance testing.

"They are glad that the saga is over," Mr Leavers said. "They look forward to getting back to doing what they were trained to do."
The officers were eligible to return to operational duty last month, but it remained uncertain whether they would be allowed to rejoin to the elite squad.
It is understood acting Deputy Commissioner Andrew Henderson cleared the way on Friday for the men to resume their duties with the team.
They will need to ensure "they are up to speed" to rejoin the elite squad, Mr Leavers said.
"In these highly trained positions it is easy to lose your skills after all this time," he said.
However, it is expected they will all be back with the squad by the end of the month.
"This was a rare victory for common sense," Mr Leavers said.
One of the unit's officers involved in the incident has an appeal outstanding with the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, although this will not affect his return.
Following a year-long investigation into the specialist unit’s culture in the wake of the incident, two managers were removed from their posts.
Mr Leavers said the officers involved had suffered significant financial penalties and emotional stress, as a result of the lengthy investigation.
The men were stood down from operational duty after they were spotted running naked around the unmarked police van.
The highly trained officers, who cannot be identified, included two sergeants and four senior constables.
Their punishments ranged from demotion to pay cuts. One had his rank lowered for 12 months.
In March, four of the men were fined $300 each in Cleveland Magistrates Court after pleading guilty to public nuisance.
The officers were stood down from duty after a woman reported seeing men run naked around a Toyota HiAce van on the afternoon of September 20 last year.
The van, an unmarked police vehicle, was stopped at a set of traffic lights at the corner of Redland Bay and Moreton Bay roads at Capalaba.
The officers have written formal apologies to the woman, which are expected to be given to her in the coming weeks.
I wrote this in the wallabies end of year, but it is probably more suited here. Luke Morahan could prove to be invaluable next year, not only will he vie with Rod Davies for a starting wing spot, but that fact that he has played fullback for the 20s and 13 for the red heavies means he is now the perfect outside back for the bench. Hope he pulls his head in next year
^^
no QLD police involved, said incident was in a very laid back NSW town
I think Morahan has a big year ahead of him, he was kissed on the dick a bit in 2009 with the EOYT selection, he didnt capitalise on that for 2010, but hopefully it has given him a kick up the arse to realise he cant rest on his laurels. It looks promising though, apparently he was filling in at first receiver for the Darwin 7's, getting invoved a bit more then in the past.
I think the fact that Brando got selected ahead of him was a combination of Link finding out what Brando offered as it was his last year on contract and a kick up the arse for Luke. Luke has been tearing it up in Brisbane club rugby and will be pushing very hard for an XV birth in 2010.
Simon Morahan is very young, but is behind Dominic Shipperley, and Kimani Situati as his contemporaries and I would dare say that Chris Sautia from this years Australian schoolboys side would have leapt him on the ladder of young outside backs.
And yes, he has played 7s before.
Does anyone know whether Shane Watson played rugby at Ipswich Grammar? Berrick Barnes was in the first 15 and 11, but not sure about Watson. Only asking as I'm watching the cricket.
