Good to see Timmy Horan's pronunciation problems are still at a world class level. What is Afusipa's surname? Good win but Burgess cannot pass.

i know we could probably identify 100 things wrong with how the Rebels played.. but i think first and foremost was the passing from Cordingley, it was bizarre to see him just shovel it out like that, big loping passes.. Surely Kingi deserves a start ahead of that.

Good win but Burgess cannot pass.

I didn't think his accuracy was a problem, but any problems with accuracy out there today he more than accounted for with the sheer speed of his service. McKibbin had to work bloody hard to be almost as fast as Burgo.

His combination of lightning service and fantastic running and aggresion make him an extremely dangerous player on the park. His physicality made him seem like an extra loosey at times tonight.

I agree Konze with all of that. His passing from set piece is a problem but everything else was good. Has he bulked up?

Burgess had a cracking game. Delivered quick ball all game and ensured the Tahs were always on the front foot.

That was a most enjoyable start to the season. The Tahs looked good, and the Rebels looked like they'll need a few weeks to get their shit in order.

Did anyone catch whether anything serious happened to Cipriani? I saw him limping, but then I had to make a hasty exit from the pub before the game ended.

Didn't look like it, but perhaps a little if the bulk up strategy is across the board for Tahs players.

It was just the sort of conditions and game that required that edge.

He finished the game so it doesn't appear to be all that serious.

I actually hope that it was just the pressure from the big first match, don't want them to get floggings each week, that would be bad for Aussie rugby.

Well actually, bonus points wins for every other team each week will probably help us get 2 or 3 sides into the Finals...

Tahs forwards looked bigger (eg Douglas V Bryne) and were able to dominate the rucks without committing too many players. Their speed and stamina around the park was not adversely effected. The strength and increased weight training played a huge part in that IMO.

Last point I really enjoyed - some posters were laughing and wanting to see Big Al against Sommerville, well it happened and I have to asked whose scrum collapsed, got pushed around and almost conceded a try from 15 metres? Sommerville looked better at THP.

Will do my player ratings in a bit but got to say I was impressed with Ged Robinson and Lipman for the Rebs. Apart from them the Rebs were comprehensively beaten.

Burgess is seriously like having another backrower on the field. Some of those hits... Genia wishes he could do them.

My MoM believe it or not is Douglas. Get him in the Wallabies asap!

Sure Douglas was bigger, meaner, more mobile and all round excellent, but Byrnes's beard puts him slightly ahead of Douglas on the night.

Don't know what posters you are refering to but what occured should not be surprising as Somerville is and always has been a THP for both the crusaders and ABs. And at international level he has been a much better prop than Baxter.

Scrums were a mixed bag, penalties both ways until firstly the yellow card to Ged Robinson allowed the Tahs to get some dominance and then after the simultaneous subbing of Kepu for Robinson and Henderson for Weekes the Tahs got well on top. The Rebels scrum was a lot better with Somerville at THP and Henderson at LHP, this has to be their only option going forward.

Are you talking about the Aussies on PR? Most of them are on here.

No. Hell, even Ali has been sensible when appearing on G&GR. My point is there's a great deal of BS being expressed on PR. You occasionally come across topics worth commenting but for the most part its full of nonsensical rubbish. Not to mention the Kiwi arrogance, I really hope we beat the ABs in the RWC Final just to take them a peg or two. I like most if not all the Aussie based posters as I do tend to interact with them more often.

BL Newbies wellcome to Super Rugby. The Rebs can only get better from now on.

Wow I wont be giving too many 13+ against the Tahs in the near future, great hit out first up!!
