Yet another overlap out wide p and the Rebels go close again.

Reds have chronic problems out wide defensively to go with their inability to attack.

It has been that way for two years now. Ever since RG took control of the defensive structure it has been weak from 13 out.

Well the Reds did pretty well to finish that close with 14 v 15 for 60 min. I mean they clearly were out played but it could have been a lot worse. I wouldn't expect any team to win being at that disadvantage for 3/4 of the match.

The Rebels shouldn't be too pleased with the result. They didn't really do much with 70% possession. The Reds tight defence was very good but too much shuffling of the ball around with no real plan. I think it was an opportunity lost.

The Rebels have a massive amount of talent in McMahon, Stirzacker, Jones & Debroczini.

Finally Horwill, WTF was he thinking. Hard man my arse. It was a justified Red card, he cocked the arm back for the strike a full pace back from the ruck, and dove down with no intent to clean out just to drive into PAE and strike him to the head. It is really sad how far he has fallen from the heights of 2010 & 2011. IMO he has never recovered from the Wallaby captaincy under Deans in combination with the injuries.

I think that has to do as much with the Rebels not taking advantage as much as it had to do with the Reds doing well.

Forget the card, forget the injuries. Just fucking excuses when we have deeper structural problems in our game.

Off to SA including Pretoria. This looks to get real fucking ugly when you thought it couldn't get any worse.

Well done Rebels and their supporters.

I think the commentators are being a bit harsh on James O'Çonnor saying that he didn't really involve himself enough in the attack - it's damn hard when you're making a shit tonne of tackles and the reds hardly had the ball in the second half.

A lot of wingers would have looked terrible in that type of game, and James O'Connor looked pretty solid and reliable - I think that shows the quality player he is.

Really not a good display from the ref at all. Looked well out of his depth. Some strange stuff indeed.
Well done Rebels.

How does a nation which produces more top line rugby players per capita than anyone else, produce so few top line referees?

Scrum penalties a lottery, Genia thinks he can push the opposing half out of the way at every scrum (never penalised), breakdown all over the shop, doesn't want to give a penalty for a collapsed maul 5m out so he calls it a ruck and gives Rebels feed (should have been Rebels penalty or Reds scrum) and I think he was the only person at the ground who thought the Reid try should have been disallowed for a forward pass - even the TMO was trying to tell him.

I thought the Rebels deserved the win, an absorbing game to watch, but even as a neutral I was frustrated - if I supported either of the teams I could well have thrown something at the TV.

Reds fans, I know exactly how you feel, I remember only too well not so many years ago that watching the Waratahs was exactly like you're seeing this season.

I would like to see a review on the scrums GAGRites. From the shots I saw PAE was hard done by against Slipper. Slipper appeared to be hinging to me with his elbow pointed to the ground and that shoulder consequently rolling in.

Also what are the views on Genia pushing Stirzacker at the back of the scrum. That should be a penalty surely for playing the man without the ball.

Given the way the game was played, I thought JOC (James O'Connor) did well.

A bit of a loose win for me. I thought the Reds were the better side until horwill went off. After that it just seemed that Reds were one big man short to stop a pretty workman like effort by the rebels. Great game From Supa Sega and Gill kept the Reds in it.

On a slightly game related note, what is with the teddies this year. Last year we got on the ground, met the players and threw the teddies into a central point. This year they expect us to come around the ground to the players race and throw them to the waiting volunteers. No ground entry and nothing with the players.

A bit f#ck you from most supporters who just throw them in from wherever they are and go. I really expect more from a club that has to do more to win over a bit of support. The contrast to what the storm does is startling.
