In addition to Kev's comment, of the 3 games this season, he only missed 2 tackles, which was against the Tahs. However, he wasn't alone in that aspect.

He actually hasn't seen much of the ball, or injected himself into the game. I suspect this will change, with the switch to 12. Remember, JOC (James O'Connor) played well alongside Mitchell last season for a series of games.
Also made interesting how everyone loves Kingi who has the second highest missed tackle count in the comp behind Beale.

Without stating the bleeding obvious, its looks as though Link wants a playmaking option as 15 t0 take the pressure off Quade. Lance is now the number two (10) in the side and is a very assured player (almost the antithesis of quade in style). He is also a rugged defender.
I'm sure he will go well.

Mozz can definitely still feel unlucky though.

We should still be able to get over the unorthodox Rebels, but gee it will will be good to get some troops back. Alot of our forwards have been playing some big minutes over the start of the season.

Morahan is too good to be missing out on a 22. Hopefully there is an injury we don't know about. If there isn't it might be time for him to move on.

As Link keeps saying, It's a long season, and I think he wants to see all his squad get game time. Jono is too good a player to keep in the shadows, as is Morahan. There will be injuries as the season moves on.

It's not always as simple as missed tackles, although I agree Kingi isn't much chop in defence. He offers a huge amount more than Mitchell going forward. He regularly gets over the gainline, gets around defenders and brings the other boys into the game. If it was a direct shoot-out between the two for a wing spot, I'd back Kingi every time.

Let's see how Mitchell goes at centre. With Woodward, Vuna and Situati to come back I think it might be his best shot to stake a claim going forward.

Think there is much of a chance Beiber is too focused on his clash with Quade?
Mostly 5/8's don't actually clash, for tactical reasons they occupy different areas if the field.

JOC (James O'Connor) has a habit of trying to do too much when playing at 10. He will run it a lot. I think this is a big reason why Link has picked Lance at 15. He will defend at 10 and eat O'Connor up. In attack he will run off QC (Quade Cooper) and run hard and straight at JOC (James O'Connor). Should be a great battle to watch though!

Spin it any way you like, but there is just too much firepower, experience and proven talent in this Reds team against the Rebels.

Of course I expect the Rebels to turn up and have a crack; that is a given. They should even give a pretty decent account of themselves if they shake the second half malaise they have had the last few weeks.

I would hope that one or two of the Rebels might even win the individual batle with their opposite number.

But let's be truthful; across the park it's mostly apples and oranges. I think the Rebels should be aiming for more wins this year, but I can't see this game being one of them. The Rebels were smashed by a very beatable Tahs outfit last week, and IMO the Reds are another level up.

Frankly, if the Reds are going to maintain position at the pointy end of the season, they just cannot fall at this kind of hurdle.

Reds by at least 15. Sorry lads.

I my eyes this game will end up one of two ways.
1) The Reds click and put on a big score (I hope so)
2) The Rebels keep the game close for most of the match and then it comes down to a lucky play in the last 10mins and either team could win.

two comments:-

1) I'm worried about this game because of Frisby. I'm expecting him to get owned big time by Phipps. He was horrible last week. His service put us under a lot of pressure. More of the same I expect.

2) In actually kinda pissed off Morahan is not in the team. First week he misses out all together, the last two week, he's shown his worth off the bench and and that he's probably our best full back atm. Now he falls out of the 22. da'fuck?! seriously I was expecting him to have a cracker against the Rebel. If this really is just about rotation then why not have CFS fall out of the 22? I'm really not happy.

I don't think Frisby will be an issue starting the game, and being able to build into the match. I don't think Phipps would own anybody.

Morahan's exclusion is not down to rotation in my opinion. I think he is a damn fine player, and is just a victim of circumstances.

Sautia coming on late in the match is a nice prospect as well.

It's 3-3.

Reds attacking well, Rebels finding their feet and keeping discipline. One of those games that either the Reds will win by a try or two, or if turns into a kick fest Rebels look the goods with their forwards.

edit: And as i type a Tapuai try. Driving maul went down 1m out and he simply sidesteped a 1 on 1 contest with a defender.
