They should be giving more than 5% discount to the rest of us. Bit of a joke that only blue are getting it.

With the fixtures going back to Fridays we are most likely only getting one membership as it's hard for both of us to goto the game now that our son is going to be 2. If we got 40% off our memberships we would both resign.

Is there an ARU set minimum price for tickets? I still don't know why franchises haven't made kids entrance free standard & cutting prices substantially to try to fill stadiums. When you have 20,000 people coming to the games then look at jacking the prices up once they are hooked.

After trying to come back to the Queensland Reds, Genia had to settle for a deal with the Rebels, who could be an outside chance to top the Australian conference given Wessels is expected to bring across several Force stars with him to Melbourne.

"I've spoken to a lot of the Force players that are obviously going to come over as well and they've got nothing but positive things to say about him," Genia said. "I'm looking forward to working with him. He did a really good job at the Force.

"The potential of that back line and guys that will have to sit on the bench for that back line, you just know there's going to be a lot of depth and a lot of people pushing for positions, which can only be better for each individual team."

Not out of the realms of possibility that Will might find himself on the bench behind one of Ruru or Lowrens before season 2018 is out.

It is if both of them aren't signed by the Rebels. Bear in mind we have three halfbacks; Genia, little Red and Harrison Goddard.

Little Red is the one looking the most on shaky ground. Genia will start ahead of him, and Harrison is looking good in NRC. No surprise that LR only singed for 2018.

Ozt, I agree entirely with your point. I was just extrapolating what might happen to Will if, as some have suggested, a whole bunch of ex-Force players follow Wessells to the Rebels, and for the sake of argument including the two No 9s in the equation.

Just on that point, I think all of the surviving franchises are pretty full for No 9s. While Ruru and Lowrens are arguably amongst the best No 9s in the country, where are they likely to find a home if not where the ARU give a franchise dispensation to sign them up perhaps for free?
EDIT : and in that case my guess would be the Rebels and the Tahs.

I thought the reason Genia signed with the Rebels was the Reds already had three 9s. Or was it salary cap?

Yep, the scenario is very real. I expect a number will come over, but I don't think it will be the 10+ players that some sources have quoted.

In terms of half backs, I think the Force duo are in a bit of strife. Reds and Rebels have three signed, Brumbs I know have goldilocks and Matt Lucas. (Ex tah). Tahs have Gordon and Phipps (not sure of 3rd string). If the want starting game time, they may struggle.

The Brumbies might regret signing Lucas (although he's a reasonable bench/squad option) with the Force players on offer..........

But they're also developing an excellent local young scrumhalf in Lonergan.

It's a shame there isn't another team for all these players.........

Wouldn't surprise me to see Stirzacker leave before the season starts.

My other completely unfounded suspicion is McMahon to Sunwolves. They have after all promised several 'world class' signings with this new direction they are taking. In fact we might find a player or two from the Force link up with them, and a relaxation of rules to anyone playing in the 'Australian' conference, hence McMahon still being Wallaby elibible.

Just a completely unfounded and baseless theory btw

I posted in another thread a while back a similar theory - McMahon to the Sunwolves. They have announced that they plan to sign up to four marquee players. Sean was linked to Suntory originally but that seems to have gone very quiet.

Not sure about Little Red leaving early, unless he requests a release. I can't see the VRU wanting to pay out contracts.

Sunwolves have only just been taken control of by a new governing body, the JFSRU or something along those lines, with SANZAAR representation on the board.

I think any McMahon to the Sunwolves talk is premature, given the recent change in governance and the establishment of a new board I don’t think there has been any time to plan for something like McMahon, given he announced his departure months ago.

^ Hence the "Just a completely unfounded and baseless theory btw" comment.

I've been wondering if McMahon has actually signed anything yet. I know that there have been reports that he has but, in quotes he's given, he has said "agreed to terms". It just seems odd that no Japanese team has been shouting it out that he will be joining their team in November. You would think they would be making a fuss by now.
