Say what you want about team numbers, Coxy is right. This has been handled criminally badly.

Coxy is the main reason why we have a chance on remaining, without him we'd be thrown to the scrap heap and forgotten about by the establishment.

I hope for a good performance tonight and a solid (doesn't have to be spectacular) crowd (10k would at least push back the argument we don't attract crowds, when compared to the other teams on the chopping board). Such a mess

People forget that in 20 years Australia have gone from two teams to five and it takes time to bed that in. In AFL (which has a draft) and all the additional concessions the Gold Coast have not done better than 12th. Most of the 1990's expansion teams in the NRL folded. The Melbourne Storm whom are the most successful team have only had two local players. This means they are not expanding the pool of talent just draining it. The Rebels and Force have 20 odd players between them in a shorter period of time.

You know, I'm starting to really like Coxy. Fuck the CEO media ban he says, I'm going to speak to the media as the "owner".

The good bit:

I'm starting to see that Wayne Smith is somewhat friendly to the Rebels plight. Some favourable articles from him.

but, he touches on one key point: the re-signing ban. If this doesn't get resolved, and quickly, our list will be decimated for 2018.
That's the sort of voice I want. Rally the troops, unite the clans.

Some very questionable selections in the TOTW, but I damn near choked on my weetbix when I saw Dean Mumm's name. Just dissolved all credibility in their process.

I thought (except for Latu) Mumm was probably the least worst of the Tahs forwards. Still, I thought Cummins could have had a look in. He put on a couple of bone-crunching tackles and, for the first time I can remember, we didn't turn over any line-out ball.

Yep. Mumm didnt exactly stand ip, but he was more upright than Waratahs. Good to see Rebels make up in that team.

Mr W, while I don't agree that Mumm was the least worst after Latu (Hooper was more influential in any 10 minutes versus Mumm's entire 80 minutes) since when would being "least worst" in a side which played so atrociously entitle a player to be considered for what is meant to be a team of the best performers in that particular week.

EDIT : If that is the standard the Roar use, then I will continue to give them a miss.

Fereti Sa'aaga discussing his debut
And hopefully we’re here to stay. That’s our main thing, so that we can pave the way for young boys who are keen to play professional rugby in their own city.

If we do get cut, it’s really going to take away from the amount of talent that comes out of here.

I find this article simultaneously uplifting and depressing.

I grew up playing along side Fereti Sa'aaga in the front row of our school XV. It's amazing to see him now start for the Rebels, to play in front of his family, friends and city.

Without the Rebels, Fereti (and Sione and Rob Leota) may never have found their way to Super Rugby. It's heartbreaking to think that this pathway which is now producing very talented players could be cut off so soon.

McGahan has named an unchanged starting line-up for the first time in 27 games (Rd 10, 2015)

What the hell? I know injuries are a part of sport but we can't have been that unlucky.

I don't know the details but there could have been single player changes during that time so it may not be as big as it seems.

I liked the tone of that message - sounds positive.

Who has been to all of the 49 previous games?

I'd be somewhere around 43 or 44, missed a few in both 2011 and 2012.

I reckon it's both .
Love the passion it's what we are about and have been since inception.
However do feel like it has a tinge of "this may be our last chance to prove we deserve to be here ".
Make no mistake , we are fighting for our lives as a Rugby Club.
Who better do demonstrate who we really are against than the dreaded , spiritless, holders of the worlds biggest superiority complex (and unfounded) , Tahs .
Time for action team and supporters !!
