I haven't seen any mention of it on here as yet but after last weeks game, Coxy held a impromptu and brief Q&A for Platinum and WD members at the upstairs function. There was no new revelations from what he said, he just reinforced his other public statements that the Rebels were not going anywhere.

Why I mention it is because there is a difference to reading about it in the paper and looking into one's eyes when making such statements. He appealed to us to get numbers to games, thus the "Call to Arms" email from yesterday.

I will also add that Coxy came up to us after the Blues game and apologised for the performance. It wasn't just a passing "sorry guys" it was a passionate apology and he was adamant that things will improve.

I know it might be stating the obvious but I get the strong sense he knows how his bread is buttered and as a member, it is appreciated. I follow the rugby press pretty closely and he has been on the front foot in terms of coming out and making statements versus not much from the Brumbies CEO and I don't think I've seen anything from the Force.

Nothing new I know, but good to put some colour into this whole fiasco.

There's no doubt there has been a Rebels response, which a week ago people were crying out for on this very forum.

Force did #owntheforce, a great initiative. Brumbies seem to be more of the "we're the fucking Brumbies, you serious?" approach.

The atmosphere last week was unreal, think this week will be even better. Was a lot of chiefs fans in the stands last week. This week will be majority Rebels.

What Brumbies fans don't realize, is while they are the most successful team in oz, their support numbers and financial issues last year placed a big strain on the ARU thatbwlthey won't be able to get back.

I remember the Fitzroy Football Club had the same sentiment back in 1996, right before they were "merged" with Brisbane. I was an old Roys supporter, and I lost complete interest in AFL after the merger. Still, don't have a team, doubt I will.

What iIm saying that the nostalgic considerations will likely be dwarfed by the commercial reality. Those realities have been all laid bare across the forum, so I'm not going to repeat them.

A case of alternative facts there Kevin, I think. The issues the Brumbies had last year placed a strain on the Brumbies' finances, not the ARU's. That strain resulted in a loss for the year where it would have otherwise have been a profit, and the loss has been absorbed from the Brumbies' financial reserves as I understand the situation. Have not seen any comment elsewhere that the ARU bailed them out. To this day, I believe the Brumbies are the only franchise not to have been bailed out at the expense of the ARU's coffers. Loans have been repaid.

No, those guys take the cake and chapeau to them too.

But my piss-far muscles are massive and strong. They're the strongest on this forum. I can piss so far it'll cross the Murray and I'll make the New South Welshmen pay to clean it up. Beautiful and strong.

Should've said "believe me".

"My piss muscles are yuge, yuge people, believe me, the best piss muscles ever."

On Coxy's message to members, I'm heartened he's gone out like that. Gotta keep the core supporters rusted on and attending with passion. Results will help that, but in the meantime (because they're definitely coming!) he should be focusing on building members and fans into the club. Cohesion and a sense of purpose.

Cox took ownership of the Rebels on the back of the best season they had enjoyed to date, with 7 wins (from memory) and being the first Aussie team to defeat a NZ side in NZ (Rebels v Crusaders) and he talked big about how he was going to make the Rebels one of the top twenty five clubs in the world, but I have to be honest, he has down jack till now - no major sponsors, no advertising, game attendance down and woeful half time entertainment. He has not walked the talk. Now at the 11th hour he calls for supporters - we've been here all along, his job was to build the club and in two years, (ok 21 months) what has he done?
