Fucking almost as bad as the force Injuries. Lowrance is equally missed compared to McMahon I rekon but dhp Lowrance and mcalman Coleman all being Injuried at the same time Pretty much fucked us

I hope you aren't trying to compare Lauwrens with McMahon? Haha. Reigning Australian super rugby player of the year against a guy with prob less than 10 super caps.

ARU have to ratify every contract, so yeah, they do.

Signing Parling is ridiculous unless we stay at 5 teams. If we are down to 4 then all foreign marquees should go and I'd be hesitant about even development contracts too.

Hmm. So are they ratifying the contracts above from the Rebels. If so then that is odd.

The problem is that due to the "salary cap" and top up structure, the teams are unbalanced. It would be fine if the Force is dropped and the Rebels get Coleman instead but I wouldn't be surprised if he went to the Waratahs and they managed to get him under the salary cap due to the top up system.

You forgot to mention Izzy $150k from the Tahs and $450K from the ARU on top of that.

Phipps left because we spent the money on Burgess, Phipps manager had more to do with that then the player.

If the Rebels go, the ARU will not get another cent from me, I use to call the Wallabies my number 2 side. Since 2011 I have struggled to even do that, than I have watched players moving overseas while the same old guys got caps and just got more infuriated.

Izzy was 2013. Have to get clear which year the ARU gave massive benefits to the Waratahs. That said, we did get a top up for Koroibete this year

We did spend on Burgess but surely Phipps would have been costly given he had played at least a dozen games for the Wallabies by then. Burgess probably wasn't a great investment. But I guess we have made a number of poor recruiting decisions over time.

Yesterday I watched the games v Kings and Lions. Does that mean I am committed or does that mean I am crazy and should be committed?

About the only thing the matches confirmed is that Amanaki Mafi has clearly been our best player this season and no one else comes close to him.

ARE YOU OK?

We are here if you need to talk, cause anyone who puts themselves through that in one day I have to worry about.

KevinO I thought I would get them both out of the way. I am currently watching Storm v Dragons NRL match while I was away so that is making me feel better.

The Rebels aren't travelling well but we are only 2 points behind the Force and 4 points behind the Reds, who have played an extra game. Given our form in Aussie derbies this season we are a sneaky chance to win.

The ARU aren't worth much.

If they are selectively approving some franchises' contracts, it could still come down to the lawyers.

So 3 things we learned from tonights game
1 - Koroibete should never ever kick the ball in a game again.
2 - If Meehan box kicks again then everyone in attendance should be able to give him a kick. At least he should be sat down and forced to watch every one of his box kicks and realise how pointless every one of them was
3 - Sean McMahon is the man. The Rebels were a completely different team with him on the ground. His ability to bend the line and push the opposition back creates space and makes the whole team look significantly better.

Meehan played well again and with the exception of one poor kick thought his kicking game was good, appropriate and well executed

Hmm. I'm just going to say this; Volavola is quite possibly the most effective revolving door defensive player I have ever seen. Opposition players actually leave his grid square towards the try line even faster than when they arrived, just like sling-shotting the moon, which is fucking impressive.

Has he ever made a tackle?

At least in the second half tonight when we kept the ball in hand Volavola provided some impact in attack.

If TT actually watched the game next week Hodge will be 10 (don't want him there but better than the shit volavola and Jackson garden no bashop offer. Maddocks at 15, looked very good and McMahon to start at 6. Pls don't name him captain as we have a captains curse, last 3 named have pulled out minutes before the game. Actually no captain

When is jack Deb back? I dare say tonight would of been a solid win with him at 10. There was one time tonight where we earnt a turn over in our own 22, Meehan was waiting for someone to get into position to clear the ball and volavola was standing at 13. 0 effort or want to get into position. Eventually cleared by our winger who can't kick. Horrendous, send him to one of the Italian pro12 teams as a turnstile ticket collector.

I'll have to disagree. I have never seen the point of the "Australian" box kick which gains you 10-20 metres and loses you possession

(As compared to the NZ box kick which puts the opposition under pressure and often results in regained possession.)

I said kicking game not box kicking. He put up a poor box kick (or two)

So remember that talk a while ago about Geoff Parling joining the Rebels?

Looks like he's leaving the Exeter Chiefs, playing a season of top league, then heading to an unnamed Australian team.

Do we want/need him?

My first thought would be Waratahs as they are losing Skelton and probably Mumm. (Gibson said they were losing 2 wallaby locks).
