Micheal's Daily Shit-post Presents:

The Combined Rebels and Force Injury XV:

1. Jermaine Ainsley
2. Rob Leota (the lads big enough)
3. Tim Metcher
4. Adam Coleman
5. Sam Jeffries
6. Ben McCalman
7. Sean McMahon
8. Lopeti Timani
9. Ryan Louwrens
10. Jack Debreczeni
11. Chance Peni
12. Jack McGregor
13. Dominic Shipperly
14. Luke Morahan
15. Dane Haylett-Petty

16. Murray Douglas
17. Harley Fox
18. Angus Cottrell
19. Matt Phillip
20. Jordie Reid
21. Stirzaker
22. Jonah Placid
23. Pama Fou

Very light on front-rowers and centres but otherwise this team wouldn't be a bad team at all!

That team is better than the Force and Rebels side at full strength

9 and 10 are massive worries this week. I'd be entertaining the idea of Hodge at 10 this week, with the intention of primarily playing a kicking and running game. Keep this simple and eliminate pushed passes, let Hodge take the line on and bosh it into the Lions 10 and make him earn his pay check. Bring Meehan into 9 and let him dictate and run the play from there aka. French scrum half general mode. Volavola at 15 to offer a kicking option at the back and to push into the line on attack. As much as i don't like Hodge at 10 or Volavola even on the field, it could be our best option. At the moment would rather a youngster who plays like a deer caught in the headlights than JGB (fat guy caught in the headlights)

Didn't see Jack Maddocks on the list. Is he right again, or is he still in team rehab?

Also saw on a rugby.com.au article that Mad Dog is targeting next week. Looks like his Knee is OK, given he can smash a few balls (albeit, badly) at the driving range.

I think that the pack we can put out is strong enough, even if not dominant, particularly with Colby captain, and some more of the tight 5 back, so as long as we have a halfback on the field and JGB off it, we should be OK.

Ships and Jordy are back after the test window, was talking with them at the family day.

Jefferies is the strange one.

Now I think this is well overdue regarding professional players:
"You can't expect the professional, paid to do nothing but play football on Saturday,to have the same level of physical fitness as a man who works in a chip shop all week and only plays football on a Saturday."

I see nothing in Hodge's game that suggests he would make a Super Rugby 10 let alone a Wallaby one.
agree he has a very limited passing game, personally he will make a very good wing/full back at rep level, i'd say an outside centre as well if his passing can improve

Sorry - same S&C guy, new Head of Performance. I'm not sure how this differs from S&C seeing as the man (Damian Mednis) has worked in an S&C capacity before.
Is this bloke still Head of Performance? Surely at some point he must be held accountable for the ridiculous injury list?

Saw this little tidbit on Rugby.com.au:

Stand-in skipper Hodge is the fourth the team has had this season, with Sean McMahon the official captain still yet to play a game, Nic Stirzaker injured and Colby Fainga'a a late withdrawal on Saturday.

Feel it's a typo, but Mad Dog as Captain. I could live with that.

I noticed that too. I think it's a typo as Nic is official captain but I always thought Sean should be.

Having Sean and Colby back next weekend would be immense! The attitude of Sean alone will lift the team.

Wow 2 players in a match day squad that can get over the gain line (McMahon and mafi). Who would of thought!

Depending on who decides to get injured this week we might be able to field our best forward pack of the season. To bad we have to field the poop we have left at 10

Retallick is the softest lock I've ever seen too.

I'd be tempted to just play Ha'angana off the bench for next week, and use Timani as a lock for the rest of the season.

Some of the schools have pretty good level 3 coaches - maybe Coach McGahan could drop by a school game and get some coaching tips - (Training Tuesday and Thursday 3.30-5.00 in case you are reading this Tony)
