are they laws adopted in super rugby/tri nations now?
i had thought they weren't.

They aren't in use for Super Rugby but I think they are for the Lions Tour and presumably Rugby Championship.

Thereafter I'd imagine we'll see them in Super Rugby too, if I had to guess why they are holding off it would be because of the fact that squads were already being built in backrooms and you really do need to hire extra props if you need 4 in your match day squad each week. Many Super rugby teams would be one injury away from not meeting requirements.

Since the New South Welshmen and Queenslanders have organized XMAS drinks. Anyone keen down here? Similar date, Friday December 21.

I'll throw an invite the Rebels way too, if we get this off the ground.

Coach Dave Rennie said: "This is hugely disappointing for us and Josh. He's a top man and made a big impression on us last season. However we have found an excellent replacement in Pauliasi Manu".
Manu had initially signed with the Melbourne Rebels but through their medical processes was thought to have a previous neck condition. Further investigations and multiple opinions by Manu’s ITM Cup Doctor and Chiefs’ Doctor James McGarvey and the NZRU Medical Director Doctor Ian Murphy have cleared Pauliasi completely fit to play. "After Josh’s injury we were in the market for a prop and to get one with his experience was ideal for us," said Dave Rennie.
"Different organisations have varying medical processes, but we are very comfortable with the high level of investigations that have taken place in New Zealand, including that of a spinal specialist which have all cleared Pauliasi fit."

Be funny if he scores a match winning try against the Rebels. ;)

I can't see how this happened but guys, let's back the Rebels. The Chief had to take a punt anyway as they were covering a hole.

The Rebels wanted Manu, they didn't ditch him for fun. Their must have been a reason.

Is it too conspiracy theory to think Manu wanted out of the Rebels contract and this is his out, not to embarrass them in the media? He signed that contract before his last couple of games for Auckland which were excellent.

Probably, the Chiefs spot only opened up by coincidence so it couldn't be planned.

If Manu starts for the Chiefs and plays thrilling rugby then we can question the Rebels media decision. What will likely happen in my opinion is he will be able to play at 70% capacity and won't impress because of it.

Medical professionals differ all the time, we've all seen a bloke go to 5 doctors/physios till one okays him to play in our club/school rugby experiences. I have a mate who was told by 12 different medical professionals of different industries and specialities that he'd have to have his spine fused till one in America taught him a different solution involving all kinds of fancy stretches. He still lifts weights at a relatively high level today because of it.

I think the only one that they aren't adopting is the 23 man squad.

Which law set is being adopted for the other changes? Those that are in use in the HEC and EOYT or does it also include the additional laws used in the Aviva Premiership which extend the role of the TMO?

I believe it's the ones in the EOYT. Once I know I'll let you know.

Its possible, but fair enough - if someone doesn't want to play for your team, there's very little point keeping him.
