Our dynamic small 12s keep getting broken.
I think most of us thought that, especially getting towards the end of the season this year. Probably the best example was when Stirzaker got about 30 minutes at the end of the Rebels - Stormers game and really took it on. Made a break and offload that set up a try, chased down Deon Fourie (I think?) off a clean linebreak, hit players with great passes straight off the deck and generally took excellent options. If he keeps going like he has been, he should overtake Phipps next year.On a more rebels related note and braveheart as a nsw man you may have thought son this.but watching the shute shield this year and somge games super games this year i really think that Stirzaker>Phipps definately should be startign ahead of him by 2014
HendersonDoes anyone have prediction for the forward line up?
Depends, he'll have plenty of time to hopefully flourish as the Wallabies half-back. Likewise for Beale at fly-half (more than likely). On a more rebels related note and braveheart as a nsw man you may have thought son this.but watching the shute shield this year and somge games super games this year i really think that Stirzaker>Phipps definately should be startign ahead of him by 2014
Or Delve at 8, Higgers at 7.Henderson
Robinson
Weeks
Neville
Pyle
Jones
Delve
Higgers
?
Dont use this year as an excuse O'Driscoll And D'arcy are 33 years old and need new hammies. In years gone by those two kept Ireland in games agaisnt the southern hemisphere teams. So much so O'driscol was taken out of a game while playign for the lions against NZ.
If i could give them 25 year old bodies i would take them. Same as the mortlock/Giteau combo. I don't want to play 2 flyhalves but i want a 12 who does have good ball playing skills. Its not league where we just play two big lumps who can run a little bit faster than our flankers
I don't disagree. Phipps needs to improve a lot on his 2012 form.
Phipps was excellent in 2011 though so I certainly think he is a capable player.
I'd prefer Higgers at 8, if only because I think it will be more useful for Australian rugby having him playing at 6/8. I think Jones is too good to be on the bench, led the Rebels for tackles and had the highest tackle average for the competition from memory - something like 16 per game.Or Delve at 8, Higgers at 7.
Doubt we'll have a quality fetcher next season. One of the weak points we've discussed before.

Fair enough, I must have remembered wrong. Still think Jones offers more around the ground, including the lineout, and has a greater upside than Saffy. Do we even know if Saffy is going to play again yet?Delve lead the Rebels for tackles, 187 tackles 14th in the comp. Saffy had the most tackles in 2011.
