I feel like every time the Reds run into contact there’s no support and it’s doing my head in

Really hoping the Reds can pullout a victory this week, otherwise it'll be tough for the Brumbies to get up to second. Avoiding a roadtrip to BA then back to Christchurch would be ideal, plus it'd be good to see QLD finish above NSW.
No joy huh

Hegarty needs to put his boot in his pocket when it comes to general play, way too much aimless kicking that got returned with interest.

I like Kerevi's kicking. Didn't pull them all off but you could at least see what he's trying to do

Thought that was a wonderful performance by Higgers for his 100 cap. Respect.

Congrats to Malolua on his first cap. Love seeing QPR experience having a knock.

Don't recall picking up on Luka, did he he cap?

I'm loving Blythe. Didn't matter even if it was going to shit he was going to enjoy himself and keep smacking in.

There remains a missing ingredient though for the Reds to start turning around these close games. Don't know what it is, they are close, but not there.

What were people's thoughts on the war dance? A touch too long perhaps but I think I liked it.

Agree about Higgers dru, he had a bloody good game again.
I thought war dance was good, though I thought Jaguares must of got a little nervous as they spproached them with the spears. But thought it was good. Was at the game and enjoyed it, Reds I don't think have progressed an awful lot this year, they coming on slowly, but not sure what they are going to do for attack if Kerevi does leave next year.

I think the missing pieces are a cohesive ensemble attack in the backs and a consistently strong kicking game.

The forwards have come along pretty well. They still need to improve - breakdown control can be an issue, our driving maul off lineouts needs a lot of work, we lack composure, and our scrum appears to have dropped off - it remains relatively sound but isn’t a threat anymore. But overall we have a fundamentally sound engine room which is good enough to compete with most in the comp and can reasonably be expected to improve next year as the pack matures.

But in the backs we don’t threaten teams enough. We have scored some great tries, generally off the back of strong play by Kerevi, but as a backline unit we don’t make teams work hard enough. Having all of Lucas, Petaia & Daugunu fit and available would probably help, but we also need someone like Stewart to really come on. I think he has had some pretty good patches, but he needs to kick up another level next year. Our depth was tested this year - we need that to have some long term pay off with a couple of those guys putting in big off seasons and kicking on. Hegarty has been quite strong in some games as well, but we need him playing at or near his best at least 80% of the time.

One of the reasons we are struggling to convert goal line pressure to points is we lack a real threat to be able to spread the defence a bit.

Out kicking game had been good at times, but poor or very poor too often.

Gav Luka did get on late in the piece, I recall seeing him on tv set up for a lineout. War dance looked great on tv, I liked the fact that they got out there close to the opposition.

Wasn’t a fan

To be fair don’t like the idea of one in general but it just comes across worse when you’ve got “performers” doing it for you, if you’re going to “challenge” a team then do it yourself, don’t get a bunch of old mates who are all overweight with man titties doing it for you. They also went over halfway while doing it which I thought was a big no no these days
