Queensland Reds 2026

That’s a defeatist attitude to have. We can and we will compete with the NZ sides if we’re a little more positive and change a few things.

Also, the Brumbies would have beaten the Chiefs on the weekend if Lelesio didn’t get hurt.
Might've changed the score by a try.. maybe two if you're really being generous but he's not worth a 21 point swing!

Him going off completely changed the game. Debreczini was completely out of his depth.

Anyway this is about the Reds in 2026 - a lot of work to do.

It's spelt Lolesio* and Debreczeni* FYI

But yes, this is a Reds 2026 thread..

- bigger backs
- better schedule
- friendly injury toll
Only one of those we can really control ourselves and it’s still not easy fix because big centres are difficult to find

The Reds have not improved and wouldn’t have gotten near the Crusaders even with a fully fit squad. People need to lose the delusion.
The injury issue wasn’t even raised to excuse the loss—it came up because someone pointed out that if we're applying that logic to the Brumbies, it should apply to the Reds too.

No one claimed injuries were the sole reason the Reds lost. So let’s have a fair discussion, but calling people ‘delusional’ for engaging with a point someone else raised isn’t exactly a strong argument. The Reds were missing six Wallabies going into that match and lost a seventh during the game. I'm happy to have a proper discussion about the team's performance, but dismissing others as 'delusional' just for engaging with a valid topic raised by someone else isn’t contributing much.

Yeah the Brumbies lost a lot more parts of the game, then having a great 5/8 out there. Same with the Reds. I think home growned advantage is bigger then we think, specially in finals..

I mentioned that the Brumbs would be in the same boat as the Reds if they couldn’t get out of the semis. They had a better injury run and a better draw.
Although they seemed to match it with chiefs, they lost by 20 points just like the reds.
They should be judged the same as the reds.

Look now, cobber, nobody was chuckin’ the injury card like it was some magic get-outta-jail-free pass, ay. It only got brought up ‘cause old mate over there was saying, “Oh but the Brumbies had injuries!” So fair’s fair, if you’re gonna play that tune for them fellas, you gotta play the same didge for the Reds too, ya reckon?

Ain’t no one sittin’ round the fire saying, “Ohh we only lost ‘cause of injuries, boohoo.” Nah, we’re not sooking, we’re just pointing out that the Reds went into that scrap with six Wallabies already sittin’ on the sidelines with busted wheels, and then copped another crook one mid-game. That’s seven, brother! That’s half the kangaroo mob gone before they even hopped on the paddock properly!

So if you wanna talk footy, sweet, I’m all ears, let’s spin a proper yarn. But if you’re just gonna come in hot callin’ people “delusional” like you’re the Footy Oracle of the Dreaming, then you’re not helpin’ the convo much, ay. We’re here tryin’ to have a real chinwag about the Reds, the good, the bad, the busted hamstrings, not throw boomerangs at each other.

So come on now, sit down, crack a can, and let’s talk some sense about what actually went down. But leave the name-calling at the door, or we’ll send ya off with no meat pie and a flat Coke.

Cheers, RB OUT. ;)

To put this in rugby terms (and hopefully end this mess of a situation)- Adam, you took the ball into contact but were too high in the collision. Scrum called, feed to Nugget.

Is is now upto us, the collective, to push the same way, towards the uprights.

Let’s not engage in the backchat, let’s focus positively on the Reds. Enough.
