I would love to see Quade start against the Poms on the weekend. I think it wouldbe a great test for him and the team and if he maintains his form it will give him some confidence for the following tests. He also allows the Wallabies to attack wider channels with his long pass. I also think that he enjoys playing with Gits as it takes some of the pressure off him to do everything.

I am definitely keen to see Cooper have a go. He has matured as a rugby player not really a person but as a rugby player he has. And the Wallabies really need to shake things up I think Deans really has no option but to send Gits to inside centre and Cooper to Flyhalf.

Have a look where Latham is in the video, never gets the ball, but is always close in support. I don't recall either AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and JOC (James O'Connor) being in a similar position all year. It is what we miss without a specialist fullback.

We need to find one fast.

No wonder Deans wanted Latham to play out the season for Oz even though he had signed to go os. Shame he got injured, because he could have taught AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) a thing on two.

This question is not a matter of just comparing QC (Quade Cooper) and Gits, it really is swayed by the balance that we achieve by having Gits move one wider, and the strikepower he brings being able to rove out there. Surely even he can see that he plays better when he has more space and is able to run the ball.

It is impossible to do a direct comparison between the two, because QC (Quade Cooper) is so inconsistent - one day his whole game (expect maybe his defense) is on and will set up trys left right and centre, one day he can't even catch the ball. When his brain is 'in' a game and he is committed to it, then I don't think there is any better in Oz, it just doesn't happen too often.

Maybe the grand plan is for Robbie to bring him up to starting 10 standard by giving him time off the bench and in the midweek team, but I just don't understand why he wasn't used against the ABs, particularly after the impact he made late against the Boks in Perth.

Deans has some serious man-love going on for Gits and there is no way he's shifting him. If Quade is starting this weekend it'll be at 12. Git's would have been shifted a few games back if it was ever on the cards.

Carter and Cooper would be a good combo as Quade has a cracking cut out pass.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm all for Cooper, we've already lost 6 of our last 7 test matches what have we got to lose.

Win or lose he'll keep us on the edge of our seat.

I am all for Cooper getting a start in one of the Grand Slam matches but maybe against Scotland a bit later on. Deans will play Gits at 10 because of his experience and better composure than Cooper. England is a must win for all our sanity and for Wallabies momentum. He has been playing well but we all agree he can be inconsistent so maybe he is due for an ordinary game. Also, having started in every key match since the time of the apes, Gits will need a rest soon but not till we notch up a win.

What Lee Grant said in the James O'Connor thread also applies to Cooper: "As I have said before: he has thousands of mistakes to make in his career and he should be encouraged to back himself and try things to learn from those mistakes. He would get rid of things that don't work and learn the basics in the process - but that process should not involve a Bledisloe match for crying out loud." and replace Bledisloe for England game.

Only 2 years ago, but enormous player turnover in that time.

15 Latho
14 Lote
13 Stirlo
12 Gits
11 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
10 Bernie
9 George
8 Palu
7 George
6 Rocky
5 Sharpe
4 Vickers
3 Baxter
2 Moore
1 Dunno

16 Freier
17 Shepherdson
18 MMM
19 Hoiles
20 Berrick
21 Gerrard
22 Mitchell

Berrick's first test. Bernie's and Gerrard's last.

So only 8 (or 9 if Dunning was at LHP) of 22 remain.

see, this is were the youth thing goes haywire for me, if were playing JOC (James O'Connor), then why arnt we playing quade, we aint winning test matches, so having people out there that arnt there normally has to be on the cards.

gits has won nothing at 10, why is he there? tomorrow is he going to win us games consistantly?

Problem is that Gits will, in one or two of these games look fantastic at 10, but then when he comes back to the 3N next year he will produce the same mediocre performances.

It's also up to the likes of Cooper and Barnes to put in a decent season of Super rugby as well - which they've not done ever.

is it time?

injuries!, stagnant backline!, future to think about!

a couple of years ago i would have preferred to poke my eyes out than consider this, but after the reported performance against glouster this morning and his regular form when coming on in other matches, is it time to throw Cooper into the game early? is it time to let him run the backline, he seems to be maturing and has been around the setup for a couple of years now, a cooper, gits, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) backline looks like it could do far greater for the wallabies than even having barnes back at this point to me.

i say, deans, grow some actual balls and do it, cooper looks like he has points in him, im not sure if any other combonation does at this stage!

Fuck, not only WJ making a lot of sense, but Dingo listening to him as well!

quade made giteau look old hat tonight, hopefully gits realises he will get alot more opportunity running off him, than trying to create stuff.

seemed to me he didnt try to create all that much. He really meant it when we said he wanted to try on his running game. didnt work but

A tip for Gits, if he's working on his running game:

When we are on the attack in the opposition 22, try not to run into one of the best defensive players ever to play the game. And if you do it once and get turned over, try not to do it a second time.

Everything Giteau did he looked like he was consciously going through the options each time. When you are that far down on confidence/form, just give the ball to someone else to do something with it and try and work your way slowly into the game.

I thought Gits was good. Ran the ball twice when he should have passed but was very controlled - kicked well both in general play and the dead ball. Lots of Gits bashing going on but he steadied our backline all match.

I'd also think Gits got well over the advantage line but received no support on one occasion . He also looked up for an offload but noone was there. Moody turned it over as a result but our centres should have been right behind him.
