Well said buddy.

I don't think I would find "assumptive" in my OED (the authority) but I could be wrong.

I believe there is a feast of the assumption

It was 2 kebabs and some chips before Quade broke into the students flat.

Go Spectator - I think you should re read my posts.
For what it is worth when I started the thread I quoted the TV news verbatum on what he did or rather what has occured.

I also added my own opinion of what I think of him but I at no time made any assumptions as to what made him do it, what he did, whether he is guilty or otherwise - only a personal opinion as to how I feel about the situation.

Personally -as far as I am concerned because he has placed himself in that position he needs sanctioning. To what lenght or severity depends on what transpires.

If you want to accuse me of something, you want to come at me by all means do so but have your facts ready and be prepared for a bun fight.
PLEASE HIGHLITE WHERE I WAS ASSUMPTIVE IN THIS CASE - PLEASE PRAYTELL.

I have never assumed anything here with regard to Cooper - only stated facts as they are known and an opinion.

THE FACTS ARE INDISPUTABLE AS THEY HAVE BEEN TELEGRAPHED IN THE MEDIA AND AN OPINION CAN NOT BE RIGHT OR WRONG - IT IS AN OPINION - NOT A STATEMENT OF FACT OR ISSUE.

looks like we'll be discussing this a little while longer/

Rising Wallabies star Quade Cooper will face a committal hearing on a burglary charge in July 2010.

The 21-year-old Test and Queensland centre briefly appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on Friday charged with one count of burglary of a residence in Surfers Paradise on December 6.

The case was adjourned for a committal hearing on July 2.

Cooper recently returned from a breakthrough Wallabies tour, during which he played all four Tests in Australia's grand slam quest.

ARU and QRU officials were waiting for the outcome of Friday's court appearance before making a decision on any action against Cooper, such as standing him down.

ARU boss John O'Neill has previously taken a dim view of player misbehaviour.

Speaking outside court, Cooper told reporters he hoped the proceedings would not exclude him from his playing duties.

"I definitely hope I'm playing football - that's what I love to do, so hopefully everything works out for the best," he said.

Cooper's lawyer Angelo Venardos told reporters his client would be pleading not guilty.

"Quade regrets putting himself in a position where he's left himself exposed to the allegations that he currently faces and he certainly regrets the potential embarrassment to his employers, the Australian Rugby Union, to his family and to his teammates," Mr Venardos said.

Mr Venardos said that this should not be taken as an admission that Cooper had broken the law.

"We'll continue to work with the ARU and the QRU to get to the truth of the matter and we'll be working with Queensland Police likewise to get to the truth of the matter," he said.

"I have, and Quade has, every confidence the truth will prevail and in the meantime we are just asking people not to prejudge the circumstances because it's a watch-this-space situation.

"There is a lot more to the story. It's not as if Quade and someone else has jumped in a car, packed their balaclavas and house-breaking implements and come down to the Gold Coast.

"But I am restricted in what I can say."

New Zealand-born Cooper made his Test debut against Italy in 2008 and has so far played 11 Tests for Austr

I think whether or not he's stood down might be an indication of how much there is to this story, as surely he's given his side to the ARU by now.

Actually if he was smart he would say nothing to anyone and put his head down and train/play out of his skin. The ARU will find it difficult to act given the pending court case and it woudl drift out of the papers until next July.

Godfrey

Phil Hardcastle (33)
That's true, though other reports in the paper have said the ARU and QRU will decide his future before he returns to pre-season training.

The latest rumour from PR

Latest inside goss from mate of a mate;

The official story is that Cooper was at Hynesie's bucks party down the coast and got fairly blotto (as you do.) Hynese'ses' place is across the road from the student accomodation in question. Cooper returned alone from a hard night on the lash in town with the lads and 'went to the wrong house' cos he was so ratshit drunk. Thought the boys from the team were having a laugh by locking him out so promptly broke in. Was chased back out by the students empty handed.

Buh, buh, baaaaaah. The plot thickens!

Initially nothing was reported missing by the students until suddenly their laptops 'disappeared.' Beginning to look like the theft allegations are the consequences of the students trying to pull a swifty insurance scam.

...Allegedly.

Who hasn't done this? I for one have been in a similar situation, and was chased out of a friends neighbors house.

fox sports are suggesting that once all the info comes out that the case may be struck off prior to June anyway.

Guilty

There was a RL player that tried to get into another hotel room in the same state this year

It would be difficult for him to give his side of the story to the ARU considering that he is adopting the Sgt. Schultz defence.

He obviously has a very astute lawyer. If anyone might successfully plead that his mind is tabula rasa, i.e., a complete blank, it would be young Quade.

Keep up the good work son. It's a poor circus that can't afford one clown.

Not guilty but a mate fell asleep in some ones Garage and the Kids found the strange man next morning. Unfortunately he sleeps in the nude! The kids dad was not impressed, but after he calmed down he gave the mate a lift home.

Once vomited in the wash basins at Pancakes at the Rocks.

Once fell asleep holding a glass of water in my lap and woke up thinking I had pissed myself.

Frequently spent the night in the grounds of Sydney University. A few stories there.

But no - never broke into anything.

I once fell asleep for two hours on caxton street after winning the trifecta on the Melbourne cup, with a few grand in my wallet. Woke up at 4am and stumbled back to a mates place in Paddington, luckily with wallet intact.

Scarfman

My wife and I once found a guy passed out lying on the carpet in Sydney Airport, late at night.

We gave him a nudge, and he wakes up spluttering "where's my wallet!?"

He finds his wallet safely in his trouser pocket, and announces that: "I am the drunkest man in Australia."

RW, an anonymous shitfight is not my thing, but I can't let this go too easily.

Your condemnation of other posters replies to you got my goat up.

If you cannot see the assumptive (as defined by Webster) nature of your comments, then fine.

I had my rant and i'm over it. Lets' agree to disagree.

I've never kicked down a door. I find it hard to believe Quade thought doing that to a mates front door was ok.

I don't know, I can kind of see that. I guess it's kind of unfair that to play rugby at this level the ARU has to be in every facet of your live making sure you don't do anything silly.
