Good Luck to all the schoolboys participating in the Qld trials Friday & Saturday. Lots of talent on show and I am sure all the boys will be giving it their best. Hopefully it is injury free and for those that don't make it just keep at it as there are examples of current Super Rugby players that missed out on the schoolboy scene but made it on the big stage.

All the best to all the young men competing in the Qld trials today & Saturday. Hopefully some good rugby with NO injuries. Do your best, enjoy the experience and have fun!

Congratulations to all for making it this far and if it doesn't "pan" out the way you thought, don't worry, just get back on the horse. As Happy to Chat said above I have known many a rugby player to make higher honours later, just a matter of being determined in what you want.

Enjoy! I will.

How did the teams go?

GPS 2 put 42 points on chairmans
robertson from IGs at 15 was best for gps and Nathanial,14 for chairmans looked good
GPS 1 beat Aic 40 to 5
the Gps forwards were average except for farrell at 7 in 1st half
the back 4 for GPS were brilliant especially Ikatu at 13 scored 2 tries
veravis at 11 , riley at 14 who scored 2 trie s and Ngamua at 15 who set up about 5 tries.

Can someone provide a match report on the AIC vs GPS game?

I might be wrong and I hope I am but I never really saw a class 10 at work tonight, maybe tomorrow will prove me wrong. Tactical kicking, decision making under pressure, let me know if I'm wrong plz.

Agreed Tss # 8 should be given a go but more so the TSS #7 destroyed the BBC #7 and dominated the breakdown at the trials, ref kept pinning all the boys for hands in the ruck when clearly the flankers (from which ever team) had all rights. I asked the ref after the game as to his decisions, answer, "the referees want to see a more free flowing game". Seems to me its not their decision to make, effectively taking out the contest in the breakdown, no wonder we get spanked by every other international team at the breakdown.
Question, some boys were selected as shadow reserve for the Aus Schools boys last year, does this have precedence over state selection as far as automatic selection into GPS1 etc goes?

your TSS 7 had a blinder today and may push Farrell out of Qld1 but where are the big number 8s

I agree GSP, Emery ?for TSS or Gunter for BBC need SOS call to match NSW. Nothing against the players just selection issues

Extremely disappointed with the choice of Tom O'Toole as a reserve for QLD 2. He outscrumbed Luka and should have had the 1 jersey for the firsts team.

The Qld 1 back line picked itself . But 1 and 16 in Qld 1 forwards were in a scrum that went backwards for 2 days,
Great players but NSW have massive front rows this year .

I am a Hunt fan but gee 16 in Qld 2 was very unlucky not to be 12 in Qld 1.
I thought he broke the most tackles in the tournament.

Hoopert, Luka and Ball are huge props, so how much bigger are the NSW front row?

The NSW props make Ben Tumifuna of the Chiefs look like a halfback.:)

Seriously though, has a shadow list been announced and who are the tips to get an invite to Combined States?

I believe Combined States will be announced Thursday.
