BGS 3,5,9 and 13 would also have chances of earning a GPS spot. BGS beat TGS 24 to 7, a very convincing display from the Brisbane boys.
Didn't mind the look of the BGS 1, Don't know about his replacement though, that scrum went downhill fast.

GPS Round 2 selections for the trial games this weekend at Tennyson.
From the 3 x pool games, 4 teams have been chosen.
Generally it appears that the top 23 of each of the pools have been put through in a team together i.e. BBC, ACGS and BSHS one team, GT, NC and IGS another and TGS, BGS and TSS the other.
Then there is a 4th team made up of all schools.
8 x ACGS
11 x BSHS
6 x GT
10 x IGS
11 x TGS
16 x BBC
12 x NC
11 x TSS
7 x BGS

Are we so naive to think that the trial made a difference. Player lists sent from the schools automatic selections with last years form a contributing factor!
There is a lot of talent on display and as you say it is presumptuous to think that playing for QLD I/II last year would be automatic inclusion this year. There are a lot of players putting their hand up for 6,7,8, 9 & 10 position this year. Difficult decision for selectors. To suggest that players who did QLD proud last year should be first up picks for this year is some what presumptuous and short sighted, Australian School boy reps, yes I can live with that call. This age group allows for big improvement from other contenders and the previous rep players, but also levelling in ability. I was able to watch a fair amount of the rugby at TSS yesterday and I suspect only several of the player listed as up front starts will be called up again in the first GPS squad. It must be said that to select from those trials is no small feat so going with a tried and proven player may not be a bad call.
From the talent on show I am very excited to follow the boys through to the Nationals and watch some out standing class on the paddock for the GPS comp.
Looking at the lists, there will also be some strength, talent and technique on display accross the 1, 2 & 3 positions. Big boys with heaps of experience (some with state/national rep experince and 2-3 yrs in school first 15). Should be great to watchThere is a lot of talent on display and as you say it is presumptuous to think that playing for QLD I/II last year would be automatic inclusion this year. Yeah, really excited about who will be in the Qld sides, they should be in with a chance of lifting the cup this year.Looking at the lists, there will also be some strength, talent and technique on display across the 1, 2 & 3 positions. I predict at least 3 players from outside GPS 1 (the benches and GPS 2-3) make the Qld Schoolboys A team.
will any boys in AIC should get a look in?
O'Toole and Woods from Padua maybe?
I can see Justin Sikimeti and Tom McDonald in the mix at 6 and 9 from st pats and st Edmonds.will any boys in AIC should get a look in?
