Fair call given his 2009 year. Made his Reds debut,Starred for the Aussie 7's, was first choice half for the OZ 20's, and then got the Wallaby tour call up. You would have to think there was interest in him from the other franchises if the Reds don't act quickly.

Probably need to start looking for a new fly half as well now that Cooper has shit his nest.

I see the Reds Academy have 5 teenagers, including Eddie Quirk, in the 18 man OZ Sevens squad. Quirk and Shipperley from 08 schoolboys and Situatia, Gill and Felsman from 09.

Any news on Jordan Taupou? I hope that they find some room for him? Hate to see him head south or west!

I don't see RUPA coming to his aid either.

Quade wont get sacked for this, the whole thing is a storm in a teapot...

Jeez, just have a look at Greg Bird and Greg Inglis, one punched his missus and the other one glassed her. Inglis was named QLD sportsperson of the year in 2009 and Bird is getting chased by clubs from all over the place.

Bird was charged with a offence and even sentenced to jail but has since been found innocent.

What I think youmeant to say was - different set of values and standards - rugby doesn't stand for this crap - while league may cast a blind eye -

I would agree to this statement up until 2009, but league has come down hard on offield behaviour this year.

Bird was sacked by his club (Cronulla, my local team) and Inglis was stood down by the storm. The sharks particularly suffered from the loss of bird this year - it would have been far easier for them to adopt an inoccent until proven guilty mentality (ala the broncos, bulldogs and other clubs).

In hindsight, both bird and inglis appear to have had extenuating circumstances and Bird was ultimately found not guilty.

Can't believe I am defending the mungoes, I guess I am wary of glass houses and stones.

Definitely no room for Jordan Taupou. He's not even with the academy. He'll have to move through the club ranks I'd say to secure a reds contract.

Jono Lance will be the man if anything does happen to QC (Quade Cooper)

Can't we get Hobbs back from the Blues?

After seeing Lance perform in Colts this year, its is a major concern.

I rate Lance Doc. Hopefully what you saw in Colts was an off day. He is tough, can tackle, possesses a decent pass and has a good kicking game to go with a cool head. If Cooper is not there at game day I would give Benny Lucas the first bite, but Lance would certainly merit a look at during the trials.

As an aside, the only time I ever saw Kingi play as a schoolboy was at 10, so he could be an option.

All of these guys ahead of Hynes for mine, he is definitely an outside back, and a good one at that. Bit like Qld league selecting Daniel Wagon at 5/8 for State of Origin..solid player and good defender, but hardly an offensive weapon.

so people found innocent of a crime should still be punished?

players should get punished for willingly putting themselved in a compromising situation, but you cant punish someone for a crime if they are found to be innocent.
