Not really much else to talk about right now anyhow. Most clubs finished off-season training and don't begin proper preseason until January. Don't think we'll have a good read on final player movements until trials in March.

The MLR is absolutely a professional ceiling.

You can probably pigeon hole it into 3rd in terms of domestic pro comps in terms of popularity and revenue (not including competitions with teams from multiple countries)

France top 14
Japan top league
MLR
Professional ceiling is generally defined as the 'limit to how far someone can advance in their career before facing a barrier, with that barrier being retirement or another career'. In that context, MLR would be more a stepping stone than a ceiling. France's Top 14 would then be the professional ceiling - or pinnacle.

So whats the gossip after first week of training for most clubs?
Who has turned up un-expected?
Who has moved on?
Who wants to tip what the table will look like in September?

Easts starting late is an interesting plan. The ‘premierships aren’t won in the preseason’ motto was shown to be a dud call last season. Maybe they have a few aces up their sleeve this year.
True but a slow start could mean leaving points behind on the table and make the squeeze for finals harder.
