Speaking to some Brothers players today and they said Werchon is 100% committed to Crosby Rd for 2023, at this stage anyway. He's been training with the boys etc.

Yes and very strong BSHS ties with that new Norths coaching group, looks like all but one of them has served at least a few years as a coach there recently.

I am close with Kelevi, he's a great bloke, but I don't think he's exactly been a standout as a coach at senior levels. Brothers weren't overly upset about losing him and something has obviously happened at Norths to see him out the door. Great news if he's back at Yoku, the guys there love him. But it'll be interesting in what capacity.

Regardless, I am keen to hear the Eagles faithful defend another coaching rotation and listen to the early crows about them turning their club around based off a couple of wins at the Noosa 7s.

Why don't you put your hand up and join the commitee or coaching ranks at Norths then mate? You seem to know everything. Or better yet why don't we just have an 8 team comp and kill rugby in QLD even more....
Bet Easts regret taking Norths lightly this year......

Happy to go over with you in private messages the moves I've attempted to make along with some former Norths players, I live out that way and see the value in having a strong rugby club in that area.

The committee won't make the level of necessary changes, the solution is a full cleanout and re-brand. The Norths Cockatoos or whatever you want to call it. It's been source of frustration for too long in its current form and attracting top talent is becoming more difficult the more losing seasons they have. You might be surprised how many 'supporters' of the club are in favour of a club refresh, not just another round of coaching rotations.

That is why I am so critical of them, because I know people have tried to help and they're not being heard.

Have you moved again… I remember last year you were living close to Souths & had a strong connection to them.

I like your commentary, you would make an outstanding administrator.

In-laws reside in Tarragindi and currently have family members playing at South’s, don’t believe I ever said I lived over that way. Has always been pretty clear my main connections are with GPS and Brother’s and reside over that part of town.

I’m a Uni support that lives over Brothers n Norths way, similarly to you I wish the club would perform better but a few of us wish for their success instead of joining all the knockers, Norths showed great promise in Colts this year which I hope shows they are building. A few years back this Colts age group was doing very well so it appears to be progressing in the right direction.

Whilst both very strong clubs GPS have won one Hospital Cup in 25 years and Brothers 2.

If Hospital cups are all the knockers benchmark which it seems to be then Uni with 6 cups and Easts with 5 should be the benchmark teams for success.

Interesting coaching announcement at Norths overnight - I heard Kelevi is returning to yoku road which is great for us. I'd love to know what happened with him and Norths? Very surprised the head coach has been reappointed to be honest, the decision makers must see something others can't. Their loss is our gain.
Wait? Kelevi is a gain? Clearly both Brothers and Norths don't think that. Maybe they've seen something...or perhaps it's haven't seen something no-one else has yet. It'll be 3 clubs in 3 years as a Coach.....which personally rings alarm bells for me. If he was worth keeping someone would've kept him surely.

Agree Hospital Cups are benchmarks - but when you look at the wider statistics there is a fair bit of consistency for those clubs in terms of remaining competitive and making finals. Which is an area that Norths haven't been able to crack.

In those 25 years - GPS have played in 4 Grand Finals and Brothers have played in 6 GFs, obviously Uni is still the benchmark in those stats (11 GFs). Norths haven't made an appearance since 1981.

In those same 25 years, Souths have appeared in 5 GF's, winning three.
