That would be two people.
On another note many including myself have had a go at Wests for being the wests Rebels. Evidence would suggest that they spread them around or is it the Nick Stiles influence.
I could about 6 or 7 playing at clubs other than the Rebels wider squad.

Ironically, there are no Rebels in the starting team for Wests tomorrow. There might be a couple from the wider squad on the bench.

where did he come from? He started well but faded. Looks an impact player from the bench is not a bad role for him at the time being

From Norths, I presume because he thought it would be an upgrade from the cellar. But with Isaac, the Gordons, Skelton et al returning by the back half of the season, he didn't think to hard of what grade he would be playing at Wests.

Probably not suitable for this page - but how come the Rebels all come back here to play? I understand the QPR would be stronger than whatever competition Melbourne have and I understood it made sense last year due to Victoria lockdowns etc. but surely sending all these blokes back to QLD is the killshot on their own competition?

Not sure how viable the Rebels are if they can't support and grow their own grassroots comp and just pillage others for players. They're also shit.

I’m all for bringing quality talent into QPR. It strengthens our competition and in turn, brings the spectators. It’s the spectators at the game and the viewers through Stan that will keep our clubs and the game thriving.
The Reds can only contract (accomodate) so many players from our clubs, so isn’t it best that the overspill join the other states and then come back home to strengthen the Hospital Cup. Yeah, bring their team mates, the more the merrier. Anyone not wanting the best of the best playing club rugby here in Brisbane, either has an ulterior agenda or doesn’t understand the concept of club footy.

It’s like anything, you need to reach out and put your club on the map. All three of these clubs have people in the know, just sometimes it costs you a buck or two. It’s called investment. You can’t expect to sit back and wait for it to happen.

That's why I keep saying we need to make QPR semi-professional. So these players dont have to go away to melbourne and can stay in town and build teamwork etc.
From what I understand they are in Melbourne early in the week, if lucky get to Brisbane for a Thursday night training run (sometimes) but a lot of time turn up on Saturday and introduce themselves to any new faces in their clubs before playing.
We know the QPR is the breeding ground for many talented players that go on but you have to feel for the bloke who works hard around his club for a QPR spot then gets bumped ie Alex Davies at UQ.

I don’t know how lucrative these contracts are.
I’m sure the wider training group of the rebels is playing for peanuts and aligned with the rebels simply for the opportunity.

I ask myself the same question with the reds sometime. How are they paying these players with the crowd numbers. Imagine channel 9/Stan is cutting a fat check to RA and it’s being evenly divided between the 5 super teams and maybe Drua

Well, it is already semi-professional in terms of players receiving remuneration and/or expenses paid. This generally applies to the ‘more valued’ players, and unfortunately the payment structure isn’t regulated.
I’m sure the players benefiting are not complaining, and I’m certain the others would be the first ones to jump on a plane to play for another state the minute a contract was on offer.

It does depend on what is important to your club. Unfortunately it is not an even playing field. One of the unfortunate side effects of the Reds squad being basically drawn from three teams is that the rest are in a constant state of rebuild.
get a decent player and they have to go to the Force, Rebels, Brumbies or overseas for an opportunity at the next level.
Take Norths they will struggle this year but have had 5 players who would have been definite first grade players head either offshore or to other states.
As a result they they are in a constant state of rebuild and it also makes recruiting harder when other clubs are perceived to have an inside track to the Reds.

It's good to see him back after his knee injury. Hopefully he gets a good run for the season at Wests with Isaac. Could workout to be a good combo, even though the Rebels see him as a 12.
