Souths v Easts has been postponed. 5ths, 4ths, 3rds and Colts 1, 2 and 3 have been transfered to Riverside Rugby Club, at Bulimba. Are games going ahead - my intel is that Souths v Easts is not going ahead today.

I don't know what you're talking about with Chipsy Wood Oval. I am at the Club at the moment and a full complement of Juniors are training. The field is lush and green and ready for play tomorrow.
Does that mean there were uncontested scrums? He's a lock isn't he?Michael Wood starting in the front row for Brothers today .
Contested - Hurts me to say Brothers scrummed well - found their groove after 10minutes and drew fair share of penalties. Good game considering conditions.Does that mean there were uncontested scrums? He's a lock isn't he?

Coming up to 50 years involved in rugby in some way and I gotta say I am about to give it away.
Have watched 3 live games today and now the brumby v blues game and am going to say it.
The referees are stuffing the game. Seems like they are in a competition to see who can be the worst with obscure decisions.
My just disappear off to some golf and fishing. Not worth the effort anymore to spend the hard earned on a poor product.

I think there’s an appetite for midweek fixtures from a Stan viewership perspective, but I’m not sure the clubs would be thrilled. They’d lose all their weekend can bar, food and fundraising opportunities. Even if all the lower grades still played on Saturday, majority of the crowd is there for 1st grade.Whenever they decide to play the fixture - think it’s going to be a good measuring stick for Stan sports and potentially looking for time slots outside the regulars Saturday afternoon fixture and seeing if there’s a appetite for midweek fixtures.
remembering that most or all of the players also work day jobs / study the concept of mid-week games would be very difficult to garner any support (unless there is a magic bag of money hidden somewhere to pay the players etc)I think there’s an appetite for midweek fixtures from a Stan viewership perspective, but I’m not sure the clubs would be thrilled. I think there’s an opportunity to bring in Sunday lunchtime fixtures in the near future (Friday night games would clash with Super Rugby). But unless there was a formal push by Rugby Australia/QRU with financial backing from Nine to move QPR into a more semi professional direction, mid week games are a tough sell.
Yes that was my point - RA/QRU/broadcasters would need to come to the party financially. I don’t think it is something we will get in the near future. QPR still very much amateur comp.remembering that most or all of the players also work day jobs / study the concept of mid-week games would be very difficult to garner any support (unless there is a magic bag of money hidden somewhere to pay the players etc)
I would suggest it has to do with Video and StanAll valid points about mid week fixtures and why it’s not likely.
Still can’t fathom how South’s can host all the lower grade games but pull the pin on the afternoon games, understanding that they relocated some games to Bulimba… why couldn’t you relocate the main event as well?
