Qld Premier Rugby 2022

Heard Michael Wood is back at Brothers - playing prop!

Apparently Penney tried it breifly while he was at the tahs:
Penney converted Harry Johnson-Holmes into a tighthead, with no more than moderate success. Heck, he even tried to turn Michael Wood, an Australian Under 20’s second-rower, into a prop. It was a bizarre move.

Wood had scored the Tahs’ first try of the season, against the Reds in Narrabri, a rampaging backrower’s effort in which he had stormed onto a sublime short pass from centre Tepai Moeroa and smashed through the line. Yet at the same time, there he was, tucking into meat pies, trying to bulk himself up to play in the front-row. Fortunately, that process has now been reversed but it has been a largely wasted season for a promising young player.

Enjoy it folks - Last Saturday with no club rugby. From what I understand trials commence next weekend finally.

righto- who is playing where this weekend? What clubs are hosting trials?
Time to get off the couch and go see some live action.

Mate Compass Cup starts this weekend

Norths v Souths at Norths.
Easts v Wests at Easts. Will be intersting to see if Wests had a big off-season of fitness aftert eh Semi Final loss last year and how Easts are shaping up under Mowan.

my pick would be Easts v Wests.

The Wests pack looking a lot more mobile than last season.
