Yep makes sense.
Anyway the Rebels stuff has hijacked this thread for long enough. Although it seems there isn’t much else to talk about, the first round seems so far away.
With Super Rugby starting this weekend, has there been any news on whether players will be in ‘bubbles’ for the tournament?
There seems to be some push in the Reds threads for Spencer Jeans to get a nod. Which means UQ could certainly run out a strong backline if they end up with Kalani Thomas, Lynagh and Grealy for long period of the season.
Still over 2 months before QPR kicks off, with Super Rugby kicking off this weekend plenty of time for form and injury to take toll on who plays where.
Topical due to the Wests/Rebels chat, UQ plays Wests in the opening round ( ANZAC round Sat 23rd April). Could see plenty of wider squad Reds' and Rebels' players having a run. Will be interested to see who Wallis and Ripley play for if back in QPR.
As PC mentioned , the UQ backline looking strong with the likes of Thomas , Lynagh and Grealy likely getting some extended time together. That's before you throw in Dalgleish, Twidale, Foley, Oates brothers, TJ Siakisini and possibly Ripley. Not sure if the forever young Scotty Gale will lace on the boots again.
Dalgleish, Twidale and Foley would be great mentors for the young guys coming through. Last year Foley, Twidale and Gale were like having on field coaches. Those around them definitely knew their roles and it showed on the scoreboard.
