Yes it was a very poor look yesterday by the QRU & the Qld Referee’s Association to have Nic Berry as the Referee of a Sunnybank v Souths Semi but that’s all it was just a was a very poor look.
You are totally correct Souths only have themselves to blame for their demise that is so true and we are not & especially the players are blaming no one else except themselves and their very poor performance.
But when I asked the Referee’s doing the Referee’s Assessment how does the Referee’s Association do the Appointments for yesterday games they obviously took offence when I suggested and said is a by using a Chocolate Wheel they didn’t see the funny side and they seriously lack a sense of humour!
They gave me a swift and stern look and even sterner reply they said “You know Nic is a Super Rugby Referee”
I said “Oh really, no Shit Sherlock sorry I didn’t realise he was sorry as if I don’t know that as a I don’t watch any Super Rugby as a Rugby Supporter for over 40 years I wouldn’t know they are and were so defensive it was hilarious!!
Lighten up Boys!!!!!
But in comparison it like putting Peter Foster in charge of the Reserve Bank or the Fraud and Cyber Investigation Squad for the QPS or even better still having Dennis Ferguson as the playground Supervisor at a local Primary School.
Or having Adolf Hilter as the CEO of all the Coal Seam Gas Projects in Qld or even better having Charles Manson as the Pope of the Catholic Church they are also appointments that would not be a very good look either.
And to preface my next comments I think the Appointment of Richard Barker as CEO is a very smart move and he is a great bloke and he will do a wonderful job but sadly he has inherited more shit than that is currently floating around BBC Treatment plants in Brisbane.
As for the QRU and the running of the Semi- Finals & Premlinary Finals & Grand Finals days at Ballymore they are so inept it beyond a joke BUT it has been going on for many years – where Security have been over the top you can’t go into the sheds to celebrate with the teams you have a son in or support from your club that have had a win.
You need to be 20.5 metres from this rope to smoke or this area to drink.
No Food or poor quality food as previously stated etc.
They could not run a Fairy Floss Stand at a School Fete or a better term would be that they couldn’t organise a Root in a Brothel quite simply they don’t have a clue on how to capitalise on the many Rugby people and Non Rugby people that go to the finals including family or relatives of the players, teams involved that go to Ballymore to support the various players & teams for the finals to make a $$$.
Also as I was sitting a mate from University last night in a Corporate Box watching the Brothers v University game I must say I have been in cleaner and or better maintain Boarding House’s in West End or Crime Scene’s in my job it was disgusting.
Brings me back to a story where a mate a Former Qld & Wallaby player who at the start of the year took 9 kids to the Rugby to watch a Super Rugby Trial at Ballymore.
As he sat in the Eastern Stand and he texted a QRU Board Member photos of the seats that were dirty and poorly maintained only to get a reply “If you are going to sit with the Plebes sit that your problem” and “What do you want me to do about it I won’t seat there.” End of quote!!
That sums up the arrogance of some at the QRU sadly.
They quite simply don’t get it!
