Out of curiousity I did a check on the Queensland GPS forum's season hits over the last few years.

2012: 368k views
2013: 462k views
2014: 574k views

I wonder how many views FoxSports gets from their coverage of the scandinavian billy cart championships that we invariably get stuck with at 11:00am on Wednesdays?

Surely there's enough veritable interest in these numbers for them to offer pursuing something along the lines of what DoubleTake do.

Would make a lot of sense to me King. With the increase in technology, making quality match recording much easier, it should be much easier to produce quality recording that are of a standard for TV.

Good to see Hamiso back in the fold King .

Have heard through the grapevine that Churchie could have lost their 5/8 and incentre for the year due to injury. One has had surgery on a shoulder and the other is waiting on results from a neck injury. Maybe the odds need to go out for Churchie.

I agree that Churchie odds should go out. Based on last years performance and the players coming through, they will struggle to win games. The coaching staff persisted with players that probably were not up to the level and unless there is a major influx of imports there will be no game changes in the back line. The inside centre from last season, who was one of their best, may not play rugby again which is a real shame. Again the forwards will be solid but if they cannot score tries then it will be difficult. They struggled in the 5/8 position last season and if he is injured the 16A's 5/8 may be the only option and he was manufactured from a loose forward. That could be scary.

OK so here is the updated Owen's book for January

TSS - $1.50
Nudgee - $2.00
BBC - $12.00
TGS - $15.00
Terrace - $50.00
Grammar - $50.00
BSHS - $65.00
IGS - $75.00
Churchie $100.00

Get some

In addition , I will give odds in the inevitable "New Year's Noosa Knuckle" rematch between Grammar and Churchie as follows :

Churchie - $1.25
Grammar - $4.50

How many 2017 under 15 players will make the First XV in 2018? Maybe the Ipswich team will be the most dominated? Might bring their odds down from $75?

Word in the ‘swich is that their big 1/3/ 6/8 ( wherever they eventually were going to play him ) has gone to State High with the 9......from last year’s 15’s

So without these 2 and even allowing for 3 or 4 others from that age group .....the odds are about right

Maybe the new Coach brings in some star power but then there are issues of rhythm and fit

$75 stands and the arrow is pointing downwards

Big depth question marks too

I think GT will be better than your odds,New coach with a track record of success AND for attracting big name imports:Flately/Cooper/Hunt/Pocock etc

Anything under 20:1 has a shot , albeit , the spread between 10 : 1 to 20 : 1 is obviously the roughie / value bet
Whereas anything over 20:1 doesn't in my view even have a puncher's chance

Terrace have half a dozen or so notable players , 1 or 2 of whom may end up being considered best in their spot in GPS . Quality of supporting cast is a big question mark and I sort of figure 11th hour recruitment is trawling through the fish that John West has already rejected

Meh

50 : 1 with an arrow pointing downward .

Grammar are same odds with arrow pointing upwards , and I think , will end up being better with some capacity to come in to 25 :1 to 30 : 1

In 2012, Sam Greene won the Premiership as the best flyhalf in the comp.
In 2013, Bobby Tuttle did likewise.
In 2014, Mack Mason led a superstar Churchie side from flyhalf.
In 2015, Brodie Croft took Churchie back-to-back.
In 2016, Isaac Crone won a premiership with the #10 jersey, while Augustus Rangihuna and Isaac Lucas sharing the rest of the podium.
In 2017 honours were split between two exceptional 16 year olds in Campbell Parata and Reesjan Pasitoa.

The point I'm making is that in the past six years, the team with the best flyhalf has come away with the GPS trophy in five of them.

GPS Rugby of late has boiled down to which team can put up the best #10, and 2018 is looking like it'll be the tightest year since 2012 on that front as a bunch of 16-year-olds transition into the top grade.

Pasitoa and Parata, as co-defending champions, rightfully sit atop the power rankings.

Carter Gordon from BBC is sniffing around to claim that mantle of "best flyhalf", as are Daejarn Asi from BGS and young Fijian Meli Dreu at Ipswich Grammar.

Francis Pona from BSHS showed some excellent flashes towards the back end of 2017 as he relegated Isaac Crone to the scrumhalf position.

TGS will be looking for their next Harry Leerentveld while Churchie will be hoping that Charlie Howard can make a bigger splash in his final year.

For Gregory Terrace, question marks abound. I'm not sure whether Xavier Siolo and Matt Lo Grande will be returning? I hope someone can fill me in.

Ísäać Crone moved to scrumhalf due to the first choice scrumhakf having a season ending injury. Not becuase Pona relegated Crone, even though Pona is a great player
