I only hear their Captain , also their Prop , and their #10 from Opens Firsts Players and 3 guys from their 2nd XV that are repeating . A back 3 player , a Centre and a Flanker

Then there is their star U16 winger and an U16 forward who is good that are returnees

Probably why they are looking across the ditch to try and stack it up a bit more

Is that not pretty good? Geez, maybe we're spoilt up here in Queensland.

Of those that started in this undefeated premiership year I count;
A Prop (Captain)
Two Locks
Flyhalf
Inside Centre
Winger

Counting boys that had 1st XV game time you could include a halfback and a fullback (I may be missing some).

Then, as you said, there are a number of boys that played 2nds in Year 11 that will be making competition for spots heated come January. Last year's Premiership is fish & chip wrapping now and they will all be looking to make their own claims for selection.

Also, as an aside, most schools would jump at the chance to have one Australian Schoolboy return for another year - let alone two. These, combined with the 3 QLD 16's reps, and any new boys introduced to the school, will have a fun year in 2019.

No disrespect intended at all Ginger . I did acknowledge their status as perennial premiership favourites. However I do believe that TSS have more depth coming back and there is probably more to crow about. I also reckon TSS will get more from their incoming 16 year old class of 2019. Nudgee have got the advantage at 10 and TSS’s fortunes might come down to the quality of their halves which is unknown and unproven for now.

No disrespect taken at all! As for favourites... you said it, not me! :p

Every single team will be wanting to improve from last year, and the introduction of the Reds U/18's Academy gives every boy more honour to strive for. What a year ahead!

Do you have an idea of who might be returning to fight for 1st XV positions at Southport?

The only thing missing is a grab/snippet from some movie

Just had a look at the replay of the Aussie Schoolboys v Munster.

Interesting to see Pasitoa got the starting spot over Gordon, probably a reflection of where they finished the GPS season ?

Perhaps, as that was certainly the case at the end of the season. I did admire Carter’s bravery in the tackle zone though, a trait many 10’s are missing. Reesjan definitely outplayed him in almost every other area. I did feel like Carter’s knee was under a fair bit of stress playing injured through the season, and his load during the year was very high. The Reds should look after him in this regard. However, I had presumed the Academy games are the “trial” games and the lineup for the International games could potentially be stronger.

After watching both UK tour games the standouts are Bell Tizzano Gordon and glimpses of Jeans and Jimenez. Is Tau Tau injured? I was looking forward to seeing his progression with stronger forwards. Van der Schyff seems a bit lost but still strong in attack. Moving Pasitoa out to 12 with Gordon at 10 was a good decision but Pasitoa will be struggling to make run on for the Tests with his current form. Vella is consistent and strong but with the size of the UK props I don’t see him being run on for the tests. A few penalties against us. Are there different scrum rules in the UK?

I just heard he will be joining Parata at Crusaders Academy in 2019. Losing Tau Tau to NZ is a major upset. What is AU doing about this? All of our young talent will be looking at heading over the ditch in coming years if AU don’t offer our elite talent better opportunities, development and money.

Explains why he isn't in the UK.

Good luck to him, fine young fella, the Crusaders Academy is quite an achievement.

He was originally named in the Reds U20s squad , obviously took the NZ option. Sadly doesn't say much for our pathways, or was he always heading back to NZ?
