QLD GPS Rugby 2018

Was pretty disappointed by BBC today as they probably had 70%+ possession and did not get the points to reflect that . Better game by CG at 10 (although 2nd XV 10 was far more dominant in his game).

Forwards were good but not enough impact n tries by them - either need big improvements or lose by 20+ to NC next week

Nudgee looked a bit rusty v BGS whic( is expected after bye. Pasitoa goal kicking was excellent but he just seemed to be in cruise mode. They got the result and move on to the next game. I am worried that V TSS, Nudgee may struggle in forwards battle due to size. Will be important to see how much they can move TSS big boppas around the field to reduce their effectiveness. Bennett is blistering fast when he hits the go button. If the defensive gives him metres of space when he gets hand on ball he is gone.

Or it might be nothing about that at all - camera platforms are easily solveable. Or ratings / hits in the rank and file of games probably hasn’t got much to do with it either as much as you suggest - the wider interest possibly being about GPS Rugby and the best performing Schools / Players in it , however , the annual NC beat up of GT is always going to attract broader interest

Maybe all Schools aren’t as big of a fan of Schoolboy sports media as others which may explain what we see or don’t see

A few Aussie Schools Reps missing yesterday around the ground

No Will Roche at 7 for GT

No Zac Crothers at 2 for ACGS

And no Will Chaffey at lock for TGS - who were also without one of the better on ball 7’s of this season’s comp in Dougal Grey

GO , Will Roche was named at 7 on the programme and was introduced as captain and number 7 as GT ran on ; I can't vouch it was him.
I'm sorry the stream was so poor as the game (live) was a beauty. Makes one wonder how GT (and BGS - who I watched play TSS) have won only one game - they are both better than that.

He definitely didn’t play.

The hats were annoying.
Cameraman and commentators need to be higher up.
Could not see three tries because of students standing in front.
Please fix asap.
Thanks

Can second that , Charlie Condon played 7 for GT and had a great game .

Not sure about Zac , but he had a head knock against GT just before half time a couple of weeks ago and didn’t return for the second half. Not sure if he played last week ?

Pretty sure Will Chaffy has withdrawn from the Aussie Schools squad due to injury , his name is not in either team list released last Tuesday and the schools’ website made a special mention that one player had withdrawn due to injury.

Injuries unfortunately part of playing a contact sport , wishing all a speedy recovery and the rest to stay healthy .

Terrace’s defense yesterday was horrendous . TSS never really looked like they could be arsed getting out of 2nd gear - they need to be careful as they have a habit of coasting / disrespecting what they deem as lesser quality opponents

But what ? 28 points given up in the last 15 minutes to flatter the scoreline ?

It’s great that Terrace either through necessity or choice are running a cast of thousands - but seriously - this team has more leaks in it than the Liberal party room

Only a few points worse than BBC the week before . At least it looked close for a bit and the boys had a crack , didn’t get the job done , but nobody gave them a snow flakes chance in hell of getting close .

Very young team , only 6 of the boys who ran out yesterday are in year 12 and only one who is 18 this year. Playing without an experienced 10 and that shows , but they will get better .

None of the changes to the starting team are due to choice , surely a BBC supporter would understand how that feels ?

Tit ,

My criticism of Terrace’s matador defense :

A : Did not excuse BBC’s effort the week before

B: Was also a broader reference ( unspecified as such ) as to how god awful it has been the entire season which would explain the 1 x win effort to date and the likely 2 x win finish

Best Regards

Tat

Btw I think BBC has only 5 x Grade 12 starters this year and look like they are locked into a minimum top 3 finish

Looking at the have and have not emerging reality of GPS Rugby - it is very telling that after 6 rounds with 3 to go and byes for GT , TSS and BGS - that there are 2 teams with no losses ( TSS and Nudgee ) 2 teams on 1 loss ( BBC and Churchie ) and 5 teams on 1 win ( everyone else )

Congrats on another top 3 finish, maybe , my money’s on TSS/ NC / Churchie , but just opinions.

If bitterness compels you to those opinions than far be it from me to dissuade you m’friend

Rather than obsess about Top 3 finishes in the last round maybe you should be more focused on Terrace getting its 2nd win of the season v TGS

Hats off to TGS 1st half defence all guts.I think they only get BBC red zone 1x
I agree with Oracle -BBc 2nds front row looks better than the 1sts

This kind of stuff is uncalled for ... The last two pages of this forum is you ragging on double take, And Terrace.

I spoke to the Cameraman on Saturday at the BSHS game, he pretty much said they do what they can but can’t broadcast from some grounds for various reasons and are subject to what the school offers for vantage point.

And don’t forget these are kids, 16-18 year olds. They’re not Super Rugby players, or even premiere grade club players, they’re kids who should be focussed on getting the best grades at school they can.

Sure, I get royally frustrated when I watch BSHS. I see laziness and talent going to waste, apathy abound. But then I swallow my tongue and pat them on the shoulder and tell them they played well because they’re 17 year old school kids who don’t need idiots vicariously trying to live through them.
