CSS deserved winners against gps 2. Gps 2 lacked someone to straighten up their attack. Way too much side to side stuff(predictable) and slide defense from CSS contained them. gps would have had at least 60-70% possession and territory.

*Once qld teams are selected, then combinations will improve with a bit more team runs and set pieces.

The King's Team of Day Two

1. Levi White (GT)
2. Nesta Mahina (BSHS)
3. Josiah Taofinuu (St Francis)
4. Harry Wilson (GT)
5. Trevor Hosea (BBC)
6. Jack Kibble (BBC)
7. Cam Howard (GT)
8. Will Roach (GT)
9. Josh Vuta (Somerset)
10. Carter Gordon (BBC)
11. Jordan Petaia (BSHS)
12. Harry McMahon (Sunny Coast Grammar)
13. Tyrone Metusela-Suapaia (GT)
14. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow (BGS)
15. Byron Ralston (GT)

I was also very impressed by the CSS #13 Mila Lalatoa from Aspley SHS, but he didn't have the punch of GT's Tyrone M-S.

Young Carter Gordon looks like a real star of the future.

Heavy GT flavour in my team but they all caught my eye.

I'm probably being very harsh on a number of GPS 1 boys but reflecting on the game, I can't recall any standing out as much as the boys I've named here.

You have to feel a bit sorry for Xavier T (of BBC) .With his size & speed He would have run amok alongside Wilson,Hosea,Small & Ngamanu.
But as the King pointed out-Kibble is making a good fist of it.He and Small appear to be playing left & right rather than 6 & 7.
The Nudgee 9 reminds me of Aaron Smith-can play.

King, must have watched a different set of games. Could not go past the starting nine and ten for GPS 1. Don't know where you get Gordon from? Not even in top 4 after yesterday's games. Error rate heading towards that of QC (Quade Cooper)!

Pretty impressive selections there The King. You said you weren't watching the last 2 games closely yet you can still pick the top side?? I think you missed a few players that put their hands up in the last game mate.

TBH I'd swap Josiah Taofinnau and Emosi Tuquiri spots

I'm not sold on Joe Small as QLD 1 Starter .

I'd give the jersey to Kohan Herbert and have Tom Kibble ( Jack finished last year ) as my bench loose forward . He nailed it yesterday.

Herbert was just consistently outstanding over the 3 days

Small to 7 starter in QLD 2 which knocks Cam Howard to the bench . I wanted to see a bit more from him tonight but was a bit up and down in engagement / intensity

I'd also swap Van Nek and Koorts

Good job though King - its pretty close

Colin Windon (37)
I'd give the jersey to Kohan Herbert and have Tom Kibble ( Jack finished last year )

I'm so bad at that. In last year's commentary I called Noah Lolesio 'Ethan', Tom Jeffries 'Nick', Richard Clift 'Will'

If a player has a brother who's played First XV, there is a 100% chance I will mix up their names at some point.

Get ready for a long season of Jack Kibbles, Tom...

Geez, Tiko Twist, Cam Howard, Harrison Cannon and Tyrone Metusela-Suapaia must feel hard done by. I thought they were all excellent.

I wonder if the latter is a case of pushback for playing League? I can't think of why else he wouldn't have been given a shot.

Some of the Q2 reserves are surprising.
When is the combined states named as Tiquri, Howard, Twist etc must be in with a show. If they get starting spots probably more benificial in the long run.
Well done though to everyone who made a team.
