Are N Wrigley and J Rogers new to the school - I cant find any record of them playing last year?? I think Forsyth could well be in the 13 this season.

Forsyth certainly not big enough to handle Outside Centre. IMO, ever since he left BGS his physicality has declined. Having said that, he's a quality player, No. 11 definitely.

I agree. He also doesn't work hard in the gym.

Be careful about assessing a players ability to play Rugby 7's based on the skills and abilities they have in the 15 aside version of the game.

There are some fine athletes named in the Qld Red and White team, but 7's requires specialist skills and fitness that many talented 15 aside players struggle with.

One missed tackle or bad defensive read in a Rugby7's game can be the difference between being in the final or the play off for 5th v 8th.

Yeah Good Luck , I wonder if any will make the Commonwealth Team? My thoughts are Reece Hewitt should be in the running.

Have you watched them play at any point after 2010?

Sure have.
In 2013-I thought they were one of the best teams over the ball in the comp.
In 2014-they lacked size but had pace out wide and were well drilled. But they had plenty of passion.They were 30 points down against BBC & came roaring back to almost pull off a miracle win.

GT recruitment is modest at best, partly due to policy and partly due to no boarding. Depth will always be a problem and the last two years they have been very 'unlucky' with their top 2 or 3 players not being able to contribute or have the impact one might have expected.

I know all schools suffer injuries but GT will never have the depth of a BBC, NC, IGS and TSS for obvious reasons.

Overall the GT coaching has done a pretty damn good job since 2011. I would say though that their time is almost up and new blood and fresh ideas needto be considered.

good points. when you look at top 3 teams last year ( and NC and TSS every year)the majority of boys in each team were boarders . training 2x a day - gym in morning. not having to travel to training also helped. a few of the GT new boys last year found it hard getting from tennyson to sunnybank at 6 pm

Eagle must see this year as IGS best chance to break free of the "most likely to cause an upset tag" and more of a "team to beat". With some of the more fancied schools having to travel to IGS to play this year, it maybe a harder road trip that previously experienced.

With players having their 2nd and 3rd years for IGS in the first 15, Eagle and the other coaches will provide them with better structure in the backs, they can work with their big mobile forward pack, they can also use good players coming in from last years U/16 and several through recruitment.

Me think that things may just be ticking along nice and quietly out west.

The Drovers dog picked ACGS to win last year.
Does anyone get the feeling that if NC get injuries to 1,3 and especially 8--the premiership is wide open this year?

Not the case for TSS- record winning margin in swimming with lots of new boys and more 18 year olds than the the U of Q rec club and RE combined.

correct-TSS have a new number 15- a league boy ,of course, from northern NSW like so many of their team.

Their cricket team is doing ok currently lying 4th with 2 losses to IGS and GT who have both only lost 1 each and TSS leading having won all their games so far after round 6. With 3 games to go they still stand a chance.
