SamoanNo8

SamoanNo8 predictions for R1:

TSS vs BBC:

Seems that BBC have failed to gather momentum heading into Round 1 of the competition with injuries and team changes. A determined and unified TSS outfit will get over the line in this one. TSS by 5.

BSHS vs TGS:

It's country vs South Brisbane folks, and a strong TGS outfit will be looking to capitalise on their comprehensive victory over BGS last week. However, BSHS have shown class in the trials leading up to the season, but the loss of F'Sautia for R1 will hurt. BSHS by 5.

ACGS vs IGS:

Despite the size and grunt of the IGS pack, Churchie will also be able to match this in both the forwards and the backs. Ponga and Perese to carve up. ACGS by 15 to 20.

GT vs BGS:

The traditional rivalry at Tennyson will surely bring about a large crowd for the day, upwards of 3000. The Terrace boys will be looking to come out breathing red fire under the leadership of Moroney and Horan, showing a dominant display to many GT old boys. However, BGS will be looking to shut down the Terrace party as Dooley, Sly, Wolstenholme and Fison will execute a perfect set piece. The men in Light Dark Blue will be hungry, real hungry, aiming to end the hope of a historic win in the inaugural match opening the Old Boys Grandstand. BGS by 3.

Not sure if you have looked at the TSS team list or know any of the boys.
Weld, hard running 70 minute player very under rated prop.
Mackenzie, hard runner, plenty of niggle can go the 70.
Pj Van Den Berg, Brick on legs, have been told hardest guy to tackle in Qld.
Lenac, plenty of niggle, want take a backward step, as long as he doesn't get red carded.
Campbell, allegedly the best #10 in Qld.
Neal, Hard running high work rate #11, has played every position in rugby apart from the front row. and plays them all very well.
Fittock, Aus school boy, speaks for its self.
Dorrough, has made every rep team since Jesus played fullback for Jerusalem (Aus school boys 1st rep team he has missed out on)
Maybe childs play for Ngamanu, I would like to have a wager on Swain giving away a penalty at crucial time and costing the team 3 points or the team down to 14 men.
I think Bbc might have to shorten the prayer for an extra session of face slapping, because if they start off asleep like last weekend they will have 7 put on them before they can say Amen.
So true this is what happened to BBC last weekend against GT.
Let hope they are not asleep this week in the 1st 5 mins.

I can report that this is completely untrue as the director of sport at gt has failed to lodge the appropriate paper work, hence Forsyth can play 16's but can not take the field in the firsts, not even off the bench. If he were to do so, gt would be ineligible to win a premiership, even if undefeated. Bit like having a Ferrari and leaving it in the garage!!!!!

Speculation regarding this rule has been surrounding the young man, this being said. Being a full paying student and not an inclusion through an exellence program etc.. he may be able to play.

News flash gt 12 hiale roy croft has been stood down from the gps comittee and is unable to play tomorrow for the first. Politics just let the kid play. Apparently he hasn't been there for two years. Sad to see.

Yes heard of this also. Confirmed hiale has been stood down from First XV duties for the entire season due to the GPS Committee Statement of Term 2 import rules.. Very unfortunate. Massive blow to GT Firsts

Great to see so many people getting involved in the tipping comp. Should be interesting to see who comes out on top...

Not sure if rule or just the way GPS committee handle Scholar's but any scholarships given to students in regards to rugby And directly related to First XV, must come in the first term or else they are considered ineligible.

If this was the case, wouldn't the GPS Committee have disallowed him from playing in the representative sides? Seems very odd to let a boy play in an association team yet not for his own school in said association. A bit of a gee up, methinks.

He started term 2 last year but apparently you have to be there for 2 full years. Unfortunately the only one that really suffers is the kid. Sad for gt and come on lets not forget their still only kids.

Didn't Sua start at Churchie in term 4 last year? As did Foulds at BBC and Malaki at GT only starting this year.

What is the difference? Their all the same age.

And Asiata starting in Term 3 at ACGS last year and continually playing off the bench. Has got to be a gee up.

According to some information by a GT supporter it's not.. Guess we'll see when they run out this afternoon at Tennyson. Definitely would be a kid gutted with the decision only made less then 24 hours of playing if found to be true.
