theres a site for all those interested in fixtures.

Churchie v TSS @ Churchie- Close game, will be determined by who plays best in the dying minutes. I don't see TSS winning this after last weeks loss at home to nudgee and many injury clouds. Churchie's forward pack is a lot stronger and their 9,10 combination is one of the strongest I've seen in a long time. Then again, if TSS lose, their season is over essentially after two games. I'm tipping churchie to win in front of old boys by the narrowest of margins, 3 points
State High v Nudgee @ State High- This could go either way. Both teams had early losses so could be seen as do or die for both sides. This game will come down to individual brilliance and I think will be just as close if not closer than ACGS v TSS match. I can see State high winning this, too many questions over Nudgee backline in tough matches and I wasn't too impressed by them against TSS. State High by 5.
Terrace v BBC @ Ballymore- Terrace's last chance to get a win. BBC coming off a loss last weekend and are favourites going into this match for the first time in years. BBC backline was uninspired v Churchie and I can't see them lifting themselves for this one. Terrace will be out to gain some pride back and will lift for this match (I hope). Terrace by 7 in what could be a very boring match..
BGS v IGS @ BGS- I said Ippy would lose last week to BSHS and i was made to eat my words. the whole team is in great form and grammar wont prove too much of a speed-bump to overcome. Ippy forwards will certainly be tested as will the grammar backline against such a free running ippy team. I don't like tipping against ippy so im going to have to say the boys in red and white by 10. Don't be too surprised if grammar cause an upset, their style of play and their number 10 could prove invaluable in cracking the Ipswich defence.
BYE TGS. Shouldn't struggle too much against downlands, this match doesnt interest me much so just for the sake of being provocative im going to tip downlands by 10.

Goodluck to all

churchie - tss -

My pick is churchie who have a well rounded unit this year to beat TSS by starving them of posession. Churchie by 10

bgs- igs

Igs will win this because they have the ideal schoolboy team with a monster backrow and pack that will cause problems for everyone's breakdown. IGS by 15.

bshs- nc
This will be a good game, state high hungry after they ran it away late against bbc and went down to ipswich. Should be a cracker, I can see State High getting fired up at home to win this one, with Nudgee leading towards the end but some composure and decision making letting them down. State high by 3
gt-bbc

BBC are currently missing a few quality back rowers that made them competitive until late against state high. I think Braeden Hood is out (if that's not quite the right name then the guy playing as a flanker against state high) and he is a turnover specialist, when he went off injured against state high they piled the points on. GT have there number 12 who looks quality but not much else. It will be closer this time, but Scottish blood can't help but have me tip the college up in this one by 8.

I see that perhaps Churchie's fields where designed with flooding in mind, but I live <1km from tennyson in graceville, I go out that way all the time and I don't see much of a difference in the actual terrain. Churchie has the creek, Terrace has Oxley Creek... Their both about equal height above the creek... So how could one get absolutely flattened and the other not. In fact I'm pretty sure Terrace is higher than Churchie from memory, I've been naughty and crossed that pipe into the fields and it's a fair way up.

Anyway I'm no scientist, looking forward to this week's fixtures lads
There was nearly 2 meters of water from Oxley Creek right through the Tennyson complex. When the water receded there were chemical residues from Rocklea industrial area & e coli (raw sewage) from sewage treatment plants up Oxley Creek left over the fields. The readings were too high to allow access to the complex. The topsoil has been stripped off with several hundred cub meters shifted. In addition all facilities including the boatshed are to be rebuilt/refurbished. The St Aiden's ground (Ambiwerra) which is further up Oxley Creek at Corinda suffered a similar fate. Churchie had no sewage or chemical problems with their fields.

Yeah bbc play cricket at Ambi a lot and we didn't get the pleasure this season so that would be a very valid explanation. Cheers.

Look forward to this weekends games everyone!

GT Fields are toxic and unsafe to play on. Roughly a foot of soil has to be removed from all of Tennyson. No one visiting would want their son to play on terrace and take on an infection which could lead to serious longterm injury.

Can I say a "Hats Off" to Brisbane Grammar who permitted Terrace use of their fields for the "Terrace/TGS" games. They didn't have to do it and it will be long remembered. Thank you.

Good luck to all this weekend!

Dad went to grammar on the topic of northgate and he told me last night that the Govt is taking northgate ovals for the Northern link tunnel? You can't be serious! Losing both the lower ones at the school and now northgate? Anyone else heard any news on this

churchie 19 - tss 19.
close game. churchie led 19-0 at half time. TSS got momentum and overran them. Churchie missed penalty with 2 mins to go that would have won the match. Impressive forward performance by both teams, particularly southport. Southport backs outplayed but all in all a close game that deserved a draw. Churchie will feel unlucky after having such a big lead.

absolute corker of a game out at Northgate, with Grammar winning 20-19

Close game throughout, with Grammar reduced to 14 men for the last 10 minutes

Good game by the entire side, with a special mention to Sam Greene for his penalty goal 5 minutes from time proving to be the winner

The atmosphere was electric, with a large number of Grammar supporters showing a real pride in their school

2011 is proving to be the tightest competition for some years, this is exciting for us all

As a Churchie Dad (son plays U13): I thought to take that penalty kick from 40+m out at angle was a v bad call. %s were well against, and under pressure. Line kick and line out would have been a higher yield % IMO, in that situation (although Churchie's scrums and line outs were mediocre throughout, plus some aimless Churchie kicks that succeeded in little but the transfer of possession.). Churchie forwards seem to tire far more than TSS's from the beginning of 2H (S&C issues?), and then Churchie's whole team shape became fragile quite quickly. Agree re Churchie backs just superior overall, and TSS's forwards same. Ioane Mk II reminded me greatly of his big brother, similar stance, the lot, he didn't get much ball at 14, though I think he handled himself well enough in contributing to at least one try. Churchie coaches would have lost some serious hair over that game, and the first cold beer will be especially welcome tonight I would think.

With the revival of Grammar rugby comes the revival of true schoolboy spirit amidst the boys in blue. Contrary to past years, the school awaits each weeks fixture with growing excitement. The GPS competition is once again flourishing and is a pleasure to watch- surely this is great for the game they play in heaven and schoolboy rugby in general.

BGS vs IGS

ipswich were unlucky in that game. they will recover dont worry

You can't say that Ipswich were unlucky in that game. They're one of the competition favourites, and they lost to "no chance" BGS. Grammar were even missing the 2010 Aus A Flyhalf Grant Davies, as well as Josh Birch (Aus Rugby League) and Lakehm Aiono (QLD U16). They performed excellently during set pieces, Sam Greene was brilliant in both attack, defence and goal kicking and the other backs got the basics right. The forwards were also dominant, securing ball and making tackles.

If anything it was Brisbane Grammar that were unlucky. They lost LHP Nick Anderson for 10 for being offside, and he hadn't previously been warned. They also lost Number 8 Levi Aumua for the last 20 due to a questionable send off. Grammar thoroughly deserved to win that game, and everybody who has written them off as easy beats should think again, because at the moment they're the only team who have won 100% of their GPS game.

Any standouts Pumpkin Head?

Does anyone have any updates on the Nudgee 10 Brittain, the latest of the hunt clan, Browning (is he injured still?) and Chris F-S from this year

Also well played to Grammar knocking over IGS, this years comp seems a lot more balanced than years past, surprised BSHS aren't doing better with their two 2 year internationals.
