Little bit off topic, but who do we reckon has the best playing jerseys in the GPS. Me personally I think the Indigenous Terrace jersey takes the crown.

JJ
The Grammar all dark blue jersey with only the light blue collar is simplistic but has tons of history behind it, heard it was based off the all blacks jersey when a NZ teacher came to the school and pitched the idea.

asking all right questions Julie. And yes that GT Jersey is great. However my pick may be an unpopular one. I think the BGS General and first xv jerseys are the cleanest. The sky blue is great on the eye, and the dark blue really makes the first xv stand out. Especially with the gold ferns out of the emblem. Both jerseys remind of a simplified version of the NSW late 2010s origin jerseys.

You simply cannot go past the legendary Nudgee butcher striped jersey. It isn't just a jersey, it's a rite of passage. Legend has it the first one was stitched by a group of angels in a thunderstorm somewhere over Ross.

There's a certain pride that comes with it. You put it on and suddenly you're not just a student, you're part of something ancient, powerful, and slightly terrifying to rival schools. It’s 50% cotton, 50% legacy, 100% intimidation. People don't remember the score, they remember the stripes.

When that jersey hits the sun just right, it blinds the opposition and inspires spontaneous haka-level energy in the boys.

Gummutt out.

Indeed DB,

As a non BGS or NC oldboy I have to cede that has to be one of the top 3 games ever in GPS history. Had everything. Oh what I would do to go back to that day where such electric footy was played.

Tom,

That year was something else. Early in the season, you wouldn’t have dared to utter the words Grammar and Premiership in the same breath. It was Churchie’s centenary big hype, heavy investment, and on paper probably their strongest side ever (to that point). The preseason chatter wasn’t if they’d win, it was by how much. And yet… they didn’t even crack the top 3.

Meanwhile, BGS were sitting 7th in the odds, barely a whisper in preseason previews and they ended up with the choccies. A genuine fairytale, and one of the great premiership stories in GPS history.

Cheers, D.B

The nudgee Jersey is a great pick GM. The fact their mighty first xv rock the same butcher stripes as the rest of their school, no ego's with their "Special" Jersey that other schools such as GT get. Love the butcher stripes, love the humility

Lots of chat about current players. What do you reckon the best GPS side ever was.
Me personally I believe Churchie 2014 would be hard to beat

FFF
For me, it has to be that GT 5peat team ('77, '78, '79, '80, '81). Notably, in 1981, the Captain was Michael Lynagh, and coach was Michael Broad, not to mention countless other professional players.
