I wasn't there so didn't witness anything but was informed by some who were there.
Suffice to say that all boys suspended were Islanders, allegedly reacting to some "colour and body part" comments.

Wests had 4 or 5 boys out of the GPS game due to Uni exams and the backline was disrupted with the starting 9,10, 12 and 14 not playing. The way they had been playing before then they should have given GPS a run for their money at full strength.

The game against Easts last week was hard fought and quite close until an Easts runaway try from a Wests dropped ball in the attacking 22 gave them some breathing space.

So they have been playing quite well as a team for the last 5-6 weeks.

My understanding is that the Wests PCs were looking forward to playing Uni after a close result last round but with all the boys now out they cant field a side.

I guess if you have 4 players suspended from one game you will lead the "cards" numbers

But, whole heartedly agree that if they punch they deserve the red card and the suspension.
Reacting to a taunt, no matter what it is, shows a lack of discipline. They will all need to improve this if they wish to continue playing.

Very disappointing to hear the Premier Colts game is lost tomorrow because that round 1 game was a cracker, the toughest one we have had all year in real terms, especially up front.
Comments such as the above regarding "colour and body parts"(I'm inferring what was said) have no place in the game if this is true.
Hopefully the culprits are identified if true.

Believe the Wests rumour is correct.
Have 4 boys suspended after Monday's judiciary following an unsavoury incident against GPS Prem Colts the other week, 3 more injured and 2 who have left for interstate after last weeks game.
Only 2/3 starting forwards currently available for Prem Colts
Surely the Wests program can round up 15x players from Colts 1 & Prem Colts to take the field, even if uncontested due to lack of forwards? 1 step forward, 2 steps back for the Doggies.

I doubt putting a sub XV out and getting a 100 point drubbing would do them any favours either.

Like it or not wests have a duty of care to their players, putting a colts 1/2 level player out against some of the monsters in the uni colts team would benefit no one.

Wests players using the Race card to try and defend their actions is ridiculous. Cheap shots off the ball, punching, head locks and shoulder charges all game, watch the video yourself. There is absolutely no one in the GPS side that would make a racist comment, we certainly do not tolerate that especially considering that one of our coaches and two playets in the team are of Pacific Islander heritage. You ask any coach of the other 8 sides and they will tell you that this rubbish has happened in every game involving Wests this year and that it took some clown who was running water for Wests who decided to run on the field and throw an elbow for the QRU to do something about it. Take a good hard look at yourselves, forfeiting premier colts must be the last straw for a club that could count the number of games their colts have win in the last 5 years with 2 hands. Very sad considering the powerhouse they were in the early 2000's.

I Watched the game at close quarters. Absolutely no racial comments but a disgraceful performance from some of the Wests team . The prop verbeld the ref from the outset and the game degenerated as others followed suit. The wests coach was uninterested in doing anything about it. Step up Wests , get with the programme, remember what the game is about. Plenty of the blame here must lay with the coaching/ management

I respectfully disagree. I used to be a part of a country rugby club that during planting season gets very thin on the ground for player numbers.
They would be lucky to get 25 players for the 3 grades. Rather than forfeiting 1 or 2 of the grades and having a crack in the top team they would play all three grades effectively elimating any chance of winning the main game as half of the players would of already played 160 min before A grade kicked off. This sense of pride in the club did wonders for the culture and every one would be firing to play for these blokes when the lads got off the tractors in the following weeks.

If the the boys who got suspended had to watch their mates get belted maybe they would think twice before having all in brawls (or what ever happened) and maybe the week they got back from suspension they would feel like they owe the team and the club a hell of a lot.

Also do you think wests would of forfeited if they where playing norths or wests?

Sorry but I was also at the game when Wests came to play our boys at Yoku a few weeks back and it was the first time I was ashamed of the great GPS club because some of the things coming out of the mouths of some of our young colts mouths and even from our supporters in the crowd was racist to say the least. If you didn't hear the comments yelled out then you must of had ear muffs on. Yes there were shoulder charges during the game from the Wests boys but that is no excuse for racism even if the kids meant it or not. I don't condone violence but racism is the lowest of low and there is no room for it in our game let alone our club. Does anyone know if any of the GPS colts got suspended for they're racist comments?

Well if there is racists comments being made, has GPS suspended them, or as I'd prefer, kick them out all together.

These are adults, yes young ones, so they deserve full punishment if that was the case. If a Premier or Reserve player did that, how long do you think clubs would keep them?

Just wondering why a "GPS supporter" posts all things pro Wests.Dont tell me there are people out there using Fake Profiles . I'd prefer to believe the Ref and the QRU for their call on this one.

I'm definitely not pro west as I agree with their boys getting suspended for fighting but I don't stand for players and supporters shouting out racial abuse.

Ok.

So now I'm wondering if any Wests supporters would like to offer up an explanation for the latest red card issued against one of their players over an incident that took place over the weekend against Souths!...

Can't elaborate why young fella was sent off.

I'd like to throw my 2 cents in on the situation:

I don't like fighting on the field and there's definitely no room for racism on the field.

There was an ugly incident a about a decade ago where a wests player killed a sunnybank player (racism supposedly played a factor in the field that day) the footballer at Wests was quite the athlete, he represented his school at 1stXV level and after this incident never really heard of him again playing rugby (i imagine living with the nightmares and hours spent in a court room really makes you lose the passion to step back out on the field) I can't really comment on the Sunnybank player who past away but my condolences were with his family when it happened.

I really wish this incident that i refer to could be drilled into our young players. I don't know if said player is interested in a public speaking circuit but I hope the legacy lives on with the consequences of "one punch can kill" not only can you lose your life on the field, your life will be destroyed if you happen to kill someone with a KO punch.

But anyways.... great result for the dogs over the weekend!!!
none the less to get a win over Souths with a man in the bin.

a fantastic result for the dogs colts program this year.

They won 4 matches in the last round!!!

Taking nothing away from Wests Premier Colts this year, they have achieved better than previous years, but does regular forfeits in Colts 1 really equate to a fantastic results for the colts program? In fact, so many forfeits that the QRU removed them from the competition as of last weekend. To me that is really disappointing is it not?

By Bulldogs standards bases on previous years.. this was a great season. We have had seasons where Wests hasn't even had a Colts 1 program, We have had seasons were we haven't even won a game let alone multiple games.

Gee I was impressed with uni colts yesterday. To have 5 blokes up in premier grade, one or 2 on the side lines and still put 60 on a team that was in contention for a top 2 spot prior to that game is a hell of an effort.
I know it's easier when you play behind such a dominate forward pack but Alex Horan looks like he has all the skills you need to be a pretty handy ten.
