^ pretty sure that's the plan in terms of Tiers i.e. all the T1 get the same, all the T2 get the same but T1's get more than T2's.

Edit: I also seem to recall reading that WR (World Rugby) would be using some of their cut to help the T2's with expenses.

Tier system doesn’t officially exist anymore. From memory Japan were last added as a Tier 1 nation but since then it’s been dropped.

As for profit sharing, Nations Championship will be owned and operated by 6 Nations and SANZAAR unions, World Rugby is organising the Tier2 tournament.

Not sure how much of a cut World Rugby would get from Nations Championship if that is the case. The 6 Nations and SANZAAR unions will share the profits from the Nations Championship, with the fee offered to the invitational teams(Fiji & Japan) undertermined.

Reportedly NZ (& two others in the SH/ Japan Group) will host Ireland, France & Italy next July meaning AB will play England, Scotland & Wales on consecutive EOYT.

Will be interesting to see if & how the SA tour goes ahead & is structured given it was initially put up as including mid-week matches & lasting (I think) five or six weeks.

Hey it's all getting interesting now isn't it? Geez i need to be careful, I will start to look forward to it.

Though on reflection in some ways are more tests what we need/want? I have quite enjoyed just having NPC rugby to watch. and no moaning about refs doing anyone out of winning games etc etc. Seems we could all just enjoy the rugby as we should do!

It's all about the money though isn’t it Dan. Unfortunately NPC/ Farah Palmer Cup/ Heartland & First XV (or anyone else's equivalent) doesn't pay the bills & SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) appears to now be a loss-leader for the NZ teams: on Breakdown last night Mils stated that all five ran at a loss & in one case the loss was over $1Mn.

For arguments sake, if we say Australia is not one of those nations and it's one of the PI / Fiji teams, do we actually expect the home nations to fly and play in the Islands?

Fiji is still having to play their "home" games in Europe - https://www.rnz.co.nz/international...y-negotiating-to-host-home-test-matches-in-uk

So the organisers of this competition need to come out and say if the first X amount of years these PI teams will have to play their home games away, what is the path forward to making their actual home games profitable. Or, for the health of the game, should we accept playing in the Islands is a loss leader for our game and we just do it.

Fiji doesn't 'have' to play their home games in Europe.. Fiji Rugby Union are choosing/negotiating to do it for the financial return

But looks like they're using this as justification for a stadium upgrade..... still wont be as profitable for the union if they were to play it in European stadium though

I understand why we have so many tests etc WOB, it pays the bills etc, just also I think is bringing out the worst in some so supporters.
