Dunning was THP all game

I wonder what was the plan if Dunning was injured? Who out of Kepu and Alexander would have played THP?

I would have preferred Alexander just because he's a bit bigger. I think Kepu did a little bit of TH work during the season but not much

I must say I am very nervous about this game. I will just keep praying Cipriani does what he is best at and unsettles the camp by starting a punchup with a team mate again.

Gits is the best we have by a long way.

I'm with FP on this one. It would only take 5 minutes of Quade the way we know him for such an experiment to disintegrate spectacularly. It would also be pretty unfair on him.

He's pretty much now the only choice from the bench, surely Antipodeans has to bring someone over as cover? Gits, Morty and Cross will never last the rest of this tour at 100%

There are a few photos of the wallabies training in the rain. wonder what effect that would have on the match. Can't be a good thing.

Looks like Dunning has already had the famed Heathrow Injection:

The latest report is suggesting that Cooper and Ione will be on the bench with MMM replacing Mumm at 6.

I'm a fan of MMM but can't see why he should be playing ahead of Mumm.

Yeah that's the team, with TPN, Dunning Palu and Cords also on the bench. It's bizarre how the team is leaked seemingly every week, it's supposed to be embargoed until 4am (AEDT)...

Sheridan is to rugby what Graham Hick is to county cricket, flat track bully. For all his supposed might and hype hes never delivered against decent opposition. Has certainly never performed against the AB's.
Would love to see you guys smash England in the forwards, cant see it happening but would be great if you could.

Nice analysis, and absolutely spot-on. If he meets a tight-head with any technique, he gets boned. Also, he's as illegal in his own way as Baxter. He never binds - ever. Always has a hand on the deck, never bound on. This is completely illegal, and that penny is starting to drop with referees, as he was pinged on more than one occasion for it last weekend.

It's a bit tough on Mumm after the superb performances he's put in the last nine months when other second rowers and breakaways have been injured or unavailable. He's done everything asked of him and according to experts on this site he's been pushing for MOTM against NZ and Italy. Dean looks after himself superbly in training, and is one of the fittest and fastest forwards going around. The future of the Wobblies revolves around Mumm, Pocock and Brown developing into an effective back row.

Elsewhere, I've called for MMM to get a lot of time on the paddock on the EOYT to allow him to develop his game, and to see how good he really is, so I'm not going to be a hypocrite and criticise his selection against the Poms. His supporters from north of the Tweed have cut him an unreasonable amount of slack the last few years; the time is coming when he has to deliver. As things stand right now he's behind Mumm as first choice for the 6 jumper.

I hope you play well, Hugh; God knows we need depth in the back five.

It's funny - that side is starting to look normal to me. but it's a fair distance from the side I might have predicted at the end of the Super14.

No doubt most if not all props do what they can to get an edge in the scrums, the better ones seem to know how to get away with it. Woodcock is probably the best going right now, the best LH and the best at getting away with the 'illegal' shit.

We cut him some slack because of the promise he has shown when he hasn't been injured, including being rated as one of the top players in the S14 after 4-5 rounds a few years ago. However Mumm deserves to be starting ahead of MMM, as he has probably been our best player over the last two games.

I can only think that he is getting a bit of a rest, and will come on as an impact sub (albeit probably into lock rather than 6). He is therefore probably (and rightly) seen as a better lock than MMM is.

The reserve has been going to 6 with the playing 6 (this week MMM) moving to lock in the games so far.

I think it's probably the right side to pick although I'd prefer a genuine and reliable fullback. Unfortunately there are none in squad.

Mumm is definitely hard done by but I can see the logic in having 3M start and Mumm to cover lock. 3M needs to be at his most abrasive (I thought he carried very well last week). I also thought Palu might start because he is bigger than Brown. However, injecting Mumm and Palu into the game with 30 mins to go could be very good for Oz. The bench is defintely better balanced than it has been for a while with some genuine game breakers available.

It didn't surprise me at that the Poms called upon Vickery..but I'm very surprised at the inclusion of Palmer as he hasn't been in form. He is a big mofo though. 8)

This might sound weird, but I don't rate Vickery's scrummaging as highly as most. To me he's like Afoa: great around the field and occasionally threatens to break out into a good scrummager.

This is a big game, in my eyes, for Stirlo. No. Scratch that. A big tour.

I am a massive fan of the man and this year he was 'officially' named in the "All Time (since 1984) Noddy First XV" (surpassing Jason Little for the 13 jersey). But I have been concerned about his form. Sure he can still bring it on, but his consistency seems to be slipping. Not the same high quality every game. To me this was the first (and continuing) sign of the demise of Gregan and Larkham. They just weren't happy to play the high standard of rugby every test.

I reckon Stirlo MAY be going down the same route. I'd be very surprised if he is around in 2010 and we may even have a new skipper come 2009
