G and c, TYS was founded to get away from the intolerant insularity of TSF; together with a plethora of Aussies I was banned too many times for disagreeing with a Kiwi's point of view. Even humorous posts with a mild anti-Kiwi slant were deleted, and don't get me started on the arguments with those one-eyed bastards on officiating, especially the rolling ball. As a point of principle we should take a Voltarian approach to our Australasian friend, Bullrush.

BTW, do you know Kiwis reckon Ruchie doesn't cheat?

:)

I started reading TSF around Christmas time but to be honest, I like the conversation here better. I've spent most of life listening to Kiwi points-of-views and now I've moved to Aussie (and don't see myself going back in a hurry) it's been great having and listening to conversations with people who have completely different ideas about how rugby is played, how it should be played, people who grew up with different idols and different villians etc....and most of the conversation is well-thought out and pretty good-natured when it comes to the banter.....I hope I can take it as well as I give it ;)

BTW.....Ritchie doesn't cheat.....he plays to the extent the ref allows him to........bahahahahaha. As a Blues fan, whenever the Crusaders play the Blues (and I have actually cheered for non-NZ teams over the Saders eg. the Crusaders v Waratahs final....I was the only guy at my rugby club's sponser bar going for the Tahs) Ritchie is a HUGE cheat....in the ABs jersey - he's a legend!!!

Lindo, I am all for members like Bullrush. An all Aussie hegemony would be tedious. A bit of stirring the pot is just fine. I was just pointing out the difference from the other side of the coin. Even now with so few Aussies left there, there is a pretty strong anti-AUS vibe (used that just for you, Lindo!!) amongst quite a few. It is a shame, because there are many very good posters over there whose input I love reading.
I love the duality, Bullrush. He cheats, he doesn't, he cheats again...

(I reckon he's OK, but many regard me here as a splitter!)

Someone mentioned earlier the McCalman and Dick Brown carry too high into the tackle. I reckon Palu tends to as well, but only from the back of the scrum (and usually get's away with it too by virtue of deity like strength). In open play he is much better.

I know what your saying there and agree. I've come to think pall actually carries high in pressure to try to get held up so the other forwards can get there. He seems to carry lower with the more support he has.

Come back Lindo (and others, except Neuter) all is forgiven... :)

Palu is well off his best footy, and unfortunately for Wallaby and Tahs fans the justification for his selection has IMo become tenuous at best. Guys like McCalman, Higgers and even Brown look well ahead of him

That's a big statement, ACT Crusader, based on half a game back from injury.

Written off from half an hour in twelve months. Brown is a failed experiment, Mccalman might need a couple of years to be test good, higgers the same for mine. pall in firm is the best eight in the land, but it's way to early to say ifnhe is going to be back to his form come world cup

How can any one say he is the best? He has too be playing too be the best.

That was my whole point too the thread. He won't be in my wallabies pick because we don't know how he is playing

And his knee Is playing up again and won't be playing this weekend.

Who knows how many games he will play this year.

Go the force!!!!

Euro tour before last he was the only guy making any go-forward, as well as taking names (see Kearney hit).

He can do it, just needs to be in good form, which may take a bit of time.

I'd like to see McCalman put on another 8-10kgs. You need the bulk to be a proper wrecking-ball eight at international level. I think this is the big difference between Palu and McCalman.

McCalman is listed as 106kg, whats Palu?, oh hang on, I can hear Clarkie.... he's 120kg!

It's not just this year, last year the game time he actually got he was poor-coughing up ball, not as dominant in the tackle, lateral movement he was QE2 like.

Houston is probably the greatest no.8 of all time, we just don't know it yet.

I'm not averse to making the odd big call myself from time to time, but this one is stratospheric.

If you turn out to be right, Reddy, you will be able to dine out on it indefinitely.

I think Houston has the *potential* to be a great international Eight, in the mould of Kefu. However, he doesn't appear to have done the work necessary to get him to that point. He was a Wallaby tourist a few years ago and just hasn't kicked on. That disappoints me a bit.
