Ok, I want to make this a thread devoted to updating squads for next year. There is so much happening we can lose track. I guess it's like Lindommer Australia's rugby troubadours thread, but for players here. So I will post the squads as they stand now, with hopefully some more information (contract length), and will sticky the thread.* Any additions just post (with a link - this is confirmed, not rumoured) and I'll update.

Surprising, given recent news, Shepherdson is contracted for next year. Perhaps its an option or perhaps he'll get a release?

Jerry Y really does deserve Super rugby game time and I'd imagine once a player asks to leave you let him.

No point paying an athlete who doesn't want to play with you when you have a quality one stabled.

Interesting, he really should have looked at moving as Genia and Cooper are definitely in front of him. I wouldn't mind him at the Rebels.

Interesting that Jerry Y played 2nds at Uni on the weekend behind the much maligned Tilse. He sat on the bench for 1s but didn't get on. He's still got some work to do at scrum time. He hasn't looked great at LHP since Laurie Weeks headed north.
Hard to believe that Alcock isn't signed. Must be playing hard to get.

Tah lock Chris Thompson was not re-signed; he's off the Narbonne for 2 seasons. Perhaps 2009 gun Oz Schools lock, Greg Peterson, will be elevated from the Tahs professional academy to a rookie contract. Watch this space.

Thompson was wasting his time at the Tahs...and vice versa, so he's better off in France and see the world...you never know in a couple years' time...

- Rebels talking to Cam Shepherd but ARU monitoring his fitness before offering top up.
- Rebels talking to Cameron Mitchell
- Force have offered Gene Fairbanks a 2 year deal.

The Rebels are also taking to Queensland centre Cameron Mitchell, who was named yesterday in the Australian Under-20 squad for the world championship in Argentina in June.

Rocky Elsom has two weeks after the Brumbies' last game to decide whether he will remain with the ACT next season.

The club is set for a major overhaul of its playing roster after this season with more than a dozen players potentially departing.

The Canberra Times understands the Wallabies captain has 14 days after the Brumbies' last game to exercise the get-out option he has in his contract.

If the Brumbies fail to qualify for the Super 14 finals, Elsom must make his decision by May 28.

The club is optimistic the blindside flanker will stay in Canberra for next season but he is yet to inform the club either way.

Brumbies chief executive Andrew Fagan hoped to meet with Elsom who manages himself this week.

As many as 13 players with existing contracts could be gone by season's end, either forced out or by leaving on their own terms.

Already veterans George Smith (overseas) and Stirling Mortlock (Melbourne Rebels) have announced their impending departures.

The long serving pair are fighting fitness to play their last homes games for the Brumbies against the Otago Highlanders at Canberra Stadium on Saturday night.

Of those still to make a decision Elsom, Stephen Hoiles and Julian Huxley will attract the most attention from rival clubs.

The Reds may well be overtaken by the Rebels soon in terms of confirmed signings.

has young Albert Anae been resigned to Reds Academy as of yet - looks like not the top squad but hear Albert has worked very hard over last 2/3 years but just seems to be in limbo land - hopefully doesn't go elsewhere as these young props take years to develop into long term bookends
