Does anyone know where I could find the NSWJRU 16s team please?

16A semi final was not much of an affair today. Ended in a 7-7 draw between Norths and Hawkesbury, the latter goes through to the final against Merrylands thanks to their position on the table. That seems like a strange rule to me. Surely you should have to win a semi to progress?
makes perfect sense - the lower placed team has to WIN to progress - same as a drawn Bledisloe series sees the cup stay put - you actually have to win it! Same methodology.
I see how it works, just seems like a bit of a hollow victory making the final without winning the game. After all it is not a final series, it is just a one off game. All that said, I am looking forward to the game next weekend, should be interesting.
I meant who is in the team.
Good idea - I will start an U16 Schools tournament thread wherein the matter can be discussed. We have to start a new one for the tournament because other states are involved.
Unfortunately I couldn't get to the 16A game between Norths and Hawkesbury however Leicester Tiger's summation seems fair from what I am hearing. Also hearing that the ref was perhaps a significant contributor to the result. Merrylands to take the title easily in my opinion.
On another note, in keeping with the recent theme about club qualified players, whilst at the Semis the previous week, it was commented that the Hunters Hill side playing the C grade semi vs Dee Why didn't appear to feature any of the players that Hunters Hill contributed to the State Championship winning Gordon team. This seems a little strange, however on a bit of investigation the plot thickens. Two Blues fans, prepare to flip your lids...
According to the 2011 State Championship program Hunters Hill contributed 13 players to the Gordon squad of 25 in total. Of these, only 6 played for Gordon (as Hunter's Hill players) in 2010.
Big deal you might say, Hunter's Hill came up with an additional 7 players... However, in 2011 Hunters Hill is not a Gordon affiliated club but a Northern Suburbs affiliated club. However it appears that the Under 16s decided it doesn't apply to them off their own back.
The NSW State Championship rules are quite clear, "All teams must include a minimum of 15 (for U12s to 17s) local players registered with a village club/country town within their District or Country Zone". Gordon included only 12 players from their own district. This would appear to be a clear breach of the rules.
To repeat, from what I am told, none of these players featured in their Semi two weekends ago. Something very fishy has happened there. Would be very interested if anyone could elaborate on the circumstances.

You'll find Malcsy, that the boys that you say didn't play last year, played the required 5 games for a village/country club and qualified for the State Championships.
Malcsy-interesting if this is correct.Did Norths give these guys permission to play for Gordon or was it a backdoor deal.I can't believe this is right-surely the officials at the NSWJRU would have picked this up at State Champs and at the very least made notice to Gordon.Isn't Kellaway in this Gordon team? How many were 'imported' from other clubs?
Wow struggle to actually believe this could happen and if right they got away with this!
